  5. You're almost correct.

It's proper shit when the person asking the questions doesn't know the answer. HTH

  6. Don't tell me you haven't googled it for him!!

  7. Maybe he's tried and failed

  8. They are on my '2001' 999 yes. But could have been fitted in 2007 when the bike was changed into the Stoner Rep. Trying to find out if they are 2001 period or later parts bin items.

  9. do they have a part number on the inside of the bottom bracket?.

  10. Does it matter?

  11. No.

    No I haven't

    Nope. Because it doesn't matter.

  12. No - no numbers anywhere.

  13. It does matter...

  14. They look like 749/999 due to the fact of the mounting positions for the front fender.

  15. That's the first thing I checked, they are a different design. I have google image searched too and can't find similar.
Thinking they maybe pre production sand cast lowers which were changed but not sure. Unless anyone knows different?
Just part of my research :)

  16. What does Lodi say?

  17. they look die-cast from the factory that where fitted on a production bike hence the yellow paint mark.

  18. He said the 5 bikes were put together using parts from R&D. I know the other bikes had standard production parts fitted so assume mine was already together and had sat there in R&D since it was built circa 2001. I know all parts are pre production or donor 998 / ST4S parts from that era - other than the 2007 changes. Just trying to determine if the forks could be pre production too. I am trying to get a contact in R&D from Lodi but not heard back.
When I have learn't all I can I will post detail pictures of what I have found.

  19. Why does yellow paint mean that they are die cast and production parts?
