Another one not on Ebay, BUT thoughts on this one?? https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans..._content=52390-Motors+-+Motorbikes+&+Scooters
Other than the obvious it looks alright (wheels, screen, air box...). Not much description or detailed photos mean a lot of questions to ask the vendor but that doesn’t make it a bad one, just not enough detail.
Yes, and? It says it’s grey, fairing swap or something else to check out? Might have been tracked as mileage up and sketchy details. Still looks ok to me if you are in the market and can be arsed asking / investigating. Or am I missing something obvious?
Looks worthy of asking some questions if you’re in the market is where I’m at. 8 owner bike with such low mileage sounds unlikely. I fully get the picky boredom thing
So it started life as a biposta. Thought the seat pad on the monoposta seat didn’t look quite right. Not quite sure I can get my head around the dangerousness (if there is such a word) of the reasons for the MoT failure. That’s truly scary. Andy
Rear brake pads worn out at 2,800 miles? Is the locking device the steering lock? Misaligned headlamp? Track bike maybe?
Have been after a good 916 but what with the things that are happening and the way the economy is things for me are on hold, and not searching for the sympathy card but my Father died last saturday so it's a case of priority now until things slip back to some kind of normal( what ever that is)!!
On a lighter note i've been fishing on this one and it looks a good and honest bike that needs a little TLC. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1102544
It's not just rust on the spring. The whole shock gets it, the piston gets pitted and the casing the same. Basically a new shock is needed but it is an excuse to replace the Showa with an Ohlins. I'll bet the rear of the engine is hammered too. The finish was never the best and it doesn't take much. If the shock is like this, the engine will need a cosmetic refurb if you want a clean bike. The best £100 a 916 owner will ever spend is on a hugger.
