2020 Tt Cancelled

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by carson, Mar 16, 2020.

  1. Might try and get across for the Manx & classic later in the year if possible - definitely going to miss being on the island for the TT this year.

  2. Not sure the IOM will want to be welcoming thousands from outside the Island until there is a vaccine.

  3. It is very strange times. Normally. if your ferry is cancelled then you want your money back NOW! But if it means that companies will go bust, then it doesn't seem so important. Strange times....

  4. The word Normal and events on the Island are not usually connected. That's why thousands of us go back each year.

  5. There’ll be no major racing of any significance this year. Forget it....

But won’t it be hilarious if Liverpool don’t win the league?? And even if it’s awarded, it’ll have a little asterisk on the cup saying ‘league not completed’ Gold!!! :joy::joy::joy:

  6. I don't see that they can - legitimately. Whatever "bodges" that the Premiership implement, if you don't play all of the games without home and away legs then it is not the league.

  7. That’ll do

  8. Being a Chelsea supporter (leave me alone!!) I pray that happens!!!
Didn’t PSG get awarded the title even though their league has been cancelled?

  9. Yep.... just a matter of time.

  10. I don't think anyone is going to watch anything this year

  11. Doesn't the Steam Racket make all of its money over the two racing festivals? The rest of the year's sailings is subsidised by them.

  12. Being a valued supporter of the TT, their words not mine, I was sent a 10% discount code for their tat... sorry, merchandise.....
Sadly I believe it has run out now, what a shame......

  13. TT ferries have now been rolled on to 2121. Well, that's if you want it. Steam racket offering....

    Roll on to 2121

    or

    Full refund

    Or

Keep the crossing in the hope everything gets sorted in a few weeks... Mad offer I know, I'm only telling you what they said.

I've gone for TT 2121.... But I'm not convinced that will happen if there is no vaccine... But, I've got a boat and will see what happens.

I'm booked on for the classic at the end of August but I suspect the same scenario will occur for that one too.

Can't see much if any racing this year.

  14. Same here, I've rolled mine over to TT2021, surely they will be able to run the TT in a year's time?

  15. Are the accommodation places/guest houses refunding or offering credit notes?

  16.

  17. Only if there's a vaccine. If no vaccine, expect no TT. Island residents were (rightly) bricking it on the thought of 40k visitors coming from all over the world..... They will be no less nervous next year if there's no vaccine.

  18. What evidence do you have for that statement? Currently IOM has similar covid stats to the rest of the UK and have already announced their 6 phase plan to ease out of lockdown.

    No, is the short answer.
