Multi gone ......never again !

1. Dave, who has the bike now?

2. I strongly recommend you take a test ride on a Triumph Explorer1200. It is a superb all-rounder and I love mine to bits. If I had to chose between the TEX12 and my Multi1200 I would probably opt for the TEX12. I have done a couple of thousand of miles on my Mutley and it has behaved impeccably but it just isn't as comfortable as the TEX and I like to go on very long trips. The aerodynamics on the TEX are superb but on the Mutley they are appalling. Good luck.

3. Yeah, you forgot that didn't you. You forgot to mention the crap aerodynamics / screen.

4.
I shant be keeping the forum name and will slip away quietly in a few days time to reunite myself with most probably a large 4 cylinder Japanese bike that even on a bad day wont give me half the grief of a Multistrada
Ha Ha you crazy fool dont you know you'll be on the internet for ever ever ver ver ver er er rrrrrrrrr.

5. I like this thread! I've no bad things to say against the OP except its a bit lame tarnishing all Ducatis based on his one experience. They're certainly not all like that
All the best to the OP, let us know what you end up choosing. :upyeah:

9. I sympathise with the OP:he bought a premium product and it turned out to be shite
I suffered similar experiences with a brand new 1150GSA,and I'll never buy/have a good word to say about BMW for the rest of my life.
Thats more to do with human nature than considered thought.
So in my eyes, dealer was useless, and the bike was rubbish
If any of us were ripped off by being sold expensive crap,we'd be more than a tad irritated.
Don't buy a another UJM,Dave, theres a reason you got bored with them and bought a Ducati
Spend the money on 3 or 4 secondhand Dukes
With luck and a good tool kit, you'll have one of them on the road for the summer :upyeah:

10. sorry to hear of your problems i have not had the pleasure to own a multi (yet)but i have owned a monster 796 at present a hypermotard .both have performed fantastic no major probs.i did wobble a few weeks back and tested a triumph tiger but sorry it just not the same. you say a lot about ducati as a company but what about your dealer did they not consider youre plight after all they took thousands out of your pocket. if it had been me. Myself and lawyer would have had a little chat if things were not sorted (to my satisfaction). sorry to loose you

11. shouldnt judge all ducati models or other multi's because your one bad bike. if you bought a box of eggs and there was one bad one that mean you wouldnt never eat another egg? if you bought a pen and it broke, would you never buy another pen? shame your smearing all ducatis because of one bad bike. being a little narrow minded. good luck in your search for perfection...... it will be a long search with any bike manufacture.

13. I'm sorry to hear you've had problems, I really am. However, I bought my first Ducati in 2008 and I've never looked back. I've never had a single issue with any of the bikes I've owned (I currently own three which shows how much I like them) and I love them to bits. I also drive an Alfa Romeo 159, in the summer desert heat of 50 deg C and, so far, I haven't had an issue with that either.

Maybe you've been unlucky, but I've heard of plenty of BMW owners in the same boat as you and there are many Porsche owners in my part of the world who wish they'd bought a Toyota Yaris as they've had so many problems with their cars.

14. After 3 days with a Tex12 i found it OK but boring compared to the Multi !

15. Is this still going on? Popcorn anyone?

16. I'll have a choc ice if you're going to the foyer please.

17. I'm hoping for waitress service given the price I paid for the bike

18. Aren't we eligible for a shag too because its a premium brand at premium cost?

19. Only if you book a 'loaner' to ride when your bike goes in for a service.

20. I'd be careful; if the waitress is as ugly as the model you may not want to,....
