The Ducatis You Have Owned.

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Robarano, May 3, 2020.

  1. In this time of lockdown, picture and video threads seem to be on the up and enjoyed by all. :)

I thought about a thread for all the Ducatis that have been and gone in your life. Now this isn't a c**k waving thread, but many of us had bikes theat preceed this Forum by quite some time.

So I'll start. Ducati's you have owned till present day. :upyeah:

1st - 1998 916 BP. Minter that I bought from a mate who had hardly ridden it from new. My 1st Ducati after a Fireblade & GSXR.

    1.JPG

2nd - 2000 996 BP. A little ropey around the edges, but that I was going to restore. I never got round to it. Sold it after riding it once and I should have just kept it. It showed up on here a while back.

    2.JPG

A bit of a gap here where I had an MV Agusta and Aprilia Tuono Factory.

3rd - 2007 1098S. Bought from Lowestoft. Another minter and I was convinced the guy had won the Lottery. A garage full of nice bikes and a power boat on his private mooring at the end of the garden. :)

    3.JPG

4th - 2010 Desmosedici RR. Pushed the boat out for this, selling the MV Agusta and 1098S to make it happen. Bought from Liverpool from a guy with hair like Sideshow Bob. :grinning: Again, mint with the GP7 exhaust kit. - Still have it.

    4.JPG

5th - 2013 Streetfighter S. The only Ducati I have bought new. It was in my local dealer for 2 years (He had an identical pair) and I kept looking at it, but it was too expensive. SFS's were a lot of money compared to the competition. He dropped it by £2k on a random day I happened to walk in and I bought it on the spot. A bike I swore I would never sell and put a lot of tasteful mods on it. But @baylissboy kept talking to me about it and I relented in the end. A great bike.

    5.JPG

6th - 2008 1098R. Bought from Jersey. It was a guys track bike and all of the original parts he took off it came with the bike. I have a thread on here somewhere about it. Modified quite heavily over the years with the latest being the carbon swing arm. A ridiculously fast machine. - Still have it

    6.JPG

7th - 2013 Hyperstrada. Bought from Cornwall, specifically for a trip to Italy. Used it for that and hooning around on for a couple of years. Sold on here to @Markmc

    7.JPG

8th - 2015 Panigale R - Bought from Devon. Again, another mint bike and due to using other stuff last year, still has only 900 miles on it. :pensive: - Still have it

    8.JPG

That's it. What have you had? :bucktooth:

  7. Nice. Bit limited for pics on my iPad but I’ll have a go...My journeys started with a 748e, w plate, not got any pics to hand for that one. I subbed that in for a 916sps from Motorapido
    7BEC4B81-915B-4660-8BD2-143706351D74.jpeg

I than added an ST2 in blue, which had the worst electrics of any bike I’ve had! Still got me to the ring and back. That went and I got a 600 monster as my wife was thinking of riding. Little yellow thing when it started...race bike when it ended it’s life and certainly not plain yellow!

In between, I had a red 848, one of the earlier ones, and loved it. No pics on my iPad, but we all know what a standard 848 in red looks like...

Having done the lower class for 2 years, I went up to the next and bought a mates bike that had been raced before, a 620ie monster and did this to it...

After I smashed myself up again, racing was off the table so bought another 848, this time an evo. Did a bit to that, probably my most favourite bike to ride fast out of all my bikes.

Then I joined the multi brigade. Too tall really, but then all bikes are too tall so what the hell! Was fun everywhere including the occasional trackday

That went for a DVT, as the seat was better for short legs. Nothing wrong with the old twin spark, but needs must...it started like this
    40982A31-EC38-471C-932C-33252EC2D27A.jpeg

    and went like this
    13C91F37-37D1-4A50-9EE8-07972E013BF3.jpeg

Now, I don’t have one in the garage. Who knows when we come out of lockdown I may jump back in. Still want a ten 2 pani, but funds won’t allow that any more, so a 1100 monster with clip ons may be the ticket.

  13. 1st Ducati, an 860GTS that I bought brand new in Dec 1976
    [IMG]

Followed by the 1st 1978 black & gold 900SS bought as an ex-demonstrator from Coburn & hughes
    [IMG]

The same bike 10 years later.

Then I had a gap from Ducatis for few years before buying this 1995 900SS
    [IMG]

    Followed by a 2003 ST4s ABS
    [IMG]

I did 50,000 miles on the ST4s and after it came a 2010 MTS1200 ABS
    [IMG]

    While I had the Multi I added a 907ie
    [IMG]

And then a new Scrambler Classic, the first brand new bike since the GTS back in 1976.

Then I got a Pantah 500SL in bits which I restored.
I've since sold it as I couldn't get on with the riding position and the very heavy clutch.

Finally I sold the Multi and bought a new Supersport 939.
