1260 Hard Luggage

  1. Hi all.im contemplating getting hard luggage for my multistrada. I have the Ducati factory cases but I find them a little fragile. So am looking for advice on the aluminium boxes.and frame work..cheers steve

  2. I think the luggage is well made, having dropped the bike with the pannier on. It held up well with just scuffing. They have never leaked. But you may feel they are fragile when you try to attach the panniers to the bike, as it can feel very stiff and you are putting pressure on the lugs. This is solved by putting silicon grease in the rubber bunges at the rear foot rests (assuming that the 1260 is the same design as previous models). The pannier will then glide on with little effort.

  3. I’ve only ridden one long trip with metal panniers, on a triumph explorer.
    opinion......
    Very convenient
    Very secure
Wrecked stability and handling at speed.

  6. I've got Givi Trekker Outback and like them very much. I got the 48l because we only use them really when we're doing 2-up trips and so it works for us. I also got the Trekker (plastic not Trekker Outback) top box as a replacement for the Ducati one. I can now use the boxes with either Ducati or BMW bikes. :)

Touring the uk I do prefer my metal panniers for stopping potential criminals. And in europe the soft-kit because I take less & I am prepared to lose what is onboard.

  8. I like the Sw motech 37litres, also the case holders/frame is easily detachable.
