Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Misterpink, May 7, 2020.

  1. first rule of eBay is ...if it's too good to be tue it's a scam.....am I right??????
Must be lockdown getting to me but I'm looking at a car miles away in Scotland which is less than half price.....he wants to have payment through eBay, will have it delivered and sent me loads of pics.
I have asked for a pic of the V5c to do an HPI check.... I've checked online the MOT history which checks out with the mileage ....am I going down the rabbit hole???? I need some sense knocked into me...HELP!!!!!

  2. Greed is the scammers tool. You would buy a car unseen for half the value? Do it and then tell us the outcome.

  3. Vehicle sales are not covered with the eBay money back guarantee, that IMO, is reason enough not to buy blind let alone a vehicle that is ridiculously cheap. Two possibilities, it’s a scam or it needs major repairs. Get your shit together man, walk away. Andy

  5. If it seems to good to be true...

  6. Usually they will ask you to communicate out with Ebay and by email only. Tell them you want to arrange a viewing, if they say its not possible walk away as it will almost certainly be a scam,

  10. Don't do it!

  11. Buy it. We could all do with cheering up at someone else's doom :)

Only kidding. Can you not speak to them? If not, 100% walk the other way.

Be warned, buying from Scotland is a danger compared to England/Wales. The laws are not helpful and if you get fucked over you WILL NOT get any legal support.

Buyer double beware north of the border :)

  12. get the seller to take the car to the nearest Porsche dealer for a check over at your cost,

and then you will know if he is serious or not

  13. He's selling an AJS and a mini digger too o_O

  14. Jaybus christmus, these are the sort of threads I sway my head. Even when someone realizes its probably a scam they continue because of 'saving' money. When in fact you'll lose the half-price saving you are about too spend. ffs

  15. The porker looks to be a quarter of what others similar are selling, the bobcat looks to be selling at a quarter of other same model bobcats BUT, he is selling two sam fox lp's

Has he mentioned he lives on an island during your discussions?

  16. And a pair of hot air balloons
