Hi all, I've bought a damaged 959 and the front link pipe (where it protrudes from the right side of the fairing) is scraped and dented. Can anyone tell me if you can remove/replace this pipe without removing the front header (and therefore the whole Radiator Assembly)? The link pipe looks like is fitted pretty tight into the front header. If anyone has taken these two apart I'd appreciate your advice as to any tricks and tips. Thanks in advance. H
I am afraid that the "link Pipe" is in fact just one pipe from the exit of the cylinder head to the exhaust "y" piece so its quite a big job to get it off.
Remove lower fairings all bolts and springs so it's all floppy and loose. If you have various shaped spanners and socket extensions it's possible without removing the radiator but you will probably need to remove fan housing to get to the bottom radiator shroud bolt and then remove the shroud bolt top right and just swivel the whole shroud to the left to get access to the front header bolt. I've followed your SS so you can handle it
yeah drop the fan shroud down like this a bit. I cut an allen key down short so I can get to the bottom shroud bolt so not having to pull the back of the shroud off to get to it, but only 6 torques screws if you don't want to cut one but you'll see what I mean.
