Simple. In my mind it is 100% clear that I can ride unlimited miles so long as I adhere to social distancing. Other people’s mind may work differently which is their prerogative.

Well, if it’s not pissing down at the weekend I’m out on mine. Nothing said about no essential travel. I’ve been working all lockdown then coming home to house arrest so I’m going out.
no you wouldn’t be breaking the law. What if your only form of transport was a bike? Then you would have to use it to pick up your files. whilst going for a pleasure ride would be breaking the law. Going shopping for food or going to work or a medical appointment etc is allowed and shouldn’t be frowned upon
Technically you were breaking the law doing this. As it is only bike shops who are allowed to do this. But you knew that right hence the ladders

So my riding Buddy is also a work colleague (known each other for 32 years) I work closely with him and can’t really social distance with him at work, however, if we go out at the weekend on our bikes and stop somewhere we have to social distance? (Not that I want to be too close to him anyway) Bonkers! Still, as long as I can get out on the bike I’ll do (almost) anything

(and whoever is in his I believe that all the powers that be would treat him as your family (That you are allowed to go out and play with) So... he is part of your inner circle. You already trust him and whoever is in HIS inner circle... I dont see my kids, they live with the Ex... but before the lock down my GF and I were swapping spit 2-3 times a week. So If one of us had it then, we both did. We kept that. She specifically said if I got sick she would break a window and climb in so... She only interacts with one family without a mask and gloves. Our trials club had decided that as you can drive to a place to exercise and riding a trials bike fits that criteria then we can start practicing again. Pre book places only and max of four vans so probably eight bikes and social distancing rules apply which shouldn’t be difficult in 66 acres. Will be concentrating on basic stuff though, nothing too challenging. Just noticed the local golf club has opened as well subject to conditions.
Had a 50 mile ride on my Street Triple this morning. Just for fun. It was cold, down to 8 degrees in one place, but so worth it. It actually felt semi normal, not busy but not quiet on the roads. Even more fun when a GSXR hooked up with me for a few miles. Naughty but nice.
