I want to get the Austin slip on plus de-cat exhaust for Hypermotard 950sp Does anyone have it ? Do I need a remap ? Can I run it without a remap ?
With this being a largely UK based forum, you might be better off putting a call in to your local dealer and asking whether fitting a non-Ducati approved exhaust and having a backstreet re-map will invalidate your warranty. My guess is it probably wont affect the parts of the warranty that cover paintwork, the sidestand, wheel bearings, seat, handlebars, suspension etc... but you may find that a claim for anything to do with the engine will probably lead to you being asked whether you're into sex and travel. Just a guess...
The Magnuson moss act basically states that the burden of proof is on the dealer to prove that your aftermarket exhaust caused the problem in question which in turn would void your warranty. If you want to avoid all of that and run zero risk, dont add anything to the bike. Any time you remove a cat, you SHOULD remap.
