which means if he killed your mate whilst riding like a cock you'd probably find there would be no insurance due to the false declaration...

And that would trouble me how? Whether he was insured or not my mates dead not due to being uninsured rider but an unlicensed rider. The only person I know that rode without a licence was only deterred by his loss of liberty at the 3rd time of being caught.

 

They weren't speeding, so I wonder what they were at. Could easily be much ado about nothing, and some miserable ould bat took the hump as they were riding together and reported them.
Sounds like the peelers grossly overreacted cos they were bored, and had to eventually throw the book at two of them for having the wrong shaped number plate.
