So what have you done today..?

  1. Read in the news today that Italy is opening up, in full, on 3rd June; hotels. bars, restaurants, shops, etc., etc. Now we have flights booked and a hotel for WDW which is postponed. Don't really want to go now. The hotel's not paid for yet, pay on arrival, so no loss there if we don't go or can't get there. The flights are paid for, Ryanair:(. So I check the Ryanair web site and and they're restoring 90% of their network with 40% flight coverage. I check about the route and flight we're booked on. Yep, it's going. But, and this REALLY p**ses me off. if I booked the flights now, today, they are 1/2 the price I paid back in Jan:mad: Grrrr:mad:. So I don't really want to go, I'm not going to get a voucher or refund, I'm gonna have to write of the best part of €600 and if I did want to go it would cost me only 1/2 that now:mad:. F**king Covid-19:mad:. F**king Ryanair:mad:. Grrrrrr:mad:.

    Rant over.:D

  3. Did about 250 miles around Northumberland, The Pennines, Cumbria & The Lakes on the Tuono. :motorcycleduc:

Here at Devil's Bridge, Kirby Lonsdale, Cumbria. :)

Had a try on my mate's KTM adventure next to mine today. Deceptively quick as you are sat quite and high with wind protection. I think I've ruled one out of the search for a tourer though.

  6. On top of all that’s going on I’m sure we don’t need to be reminded of the dark not so distant past.

  7. This evening we were supposed to be driving to a hotel in Manchester and boarding the 1110hrs flight to Orlando in the morning.
So far we have been refunded for the hotel and car parking, car hire in the states and our week at the Naples Grande hotel. Our second week was a villa in Cape Coral and the owners have refunded our deposit which is good of them as they didn’t have to but we have used them before and will use them again ( hopefully ). The only thing that hasn’t been refunded is the flights with Virgin but they should be in touch today .........

  8. I accept what you say & fair, but take it for what it is,a tongue in the cheek comment, that's all.:upyeah:

  9. tip for today...

    MEN ARE JUST HAPPIER PEOPLE

    NICKNAMES

If Laura, Kate and Sarah go out for lunch, they will call each other Laura, Kate and Sarah.

If Mike, Dave and John go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla and Four-eyes.

    EATING OUT

When the bill arrives, Mike, Dave and John will each throw in £20, even though it's only for £32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back.

When the girls get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.

    MONEY

A man will pay £2 for a £1 item he needs.

A woman will pay £1 for a £2 item that she doesn't need but it's on sale.

    BATHROOMS

A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel .

The average number of items in the typical woman's bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of these items.

    ARGUMENTS

A woman has the last word in any argument.

Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

    FUTURE

A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.

A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

    SUCCESS

A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.

A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

    MARRIAGE

A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.

A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, but she does.

    DRESSING UP

A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the trash, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail.

A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.

    NATURAL

Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed.

Women somehow deteriorate during the night.

    OFFSPRING

Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favourite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams.

A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

    THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

A married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing!

  10. Sorry to hear that. earlier this year we decided to cancel our holiday plans to Vietnam via Singapore, £200 was deducted from the flight costs and the rest returned (Singapore Airlines) and one pre booked hotel for two nights refused to refund us.
Didn’t do too bad considering this was at the early stages of the outbreak, and it was our decision to cancel
    Still a bummer though.

  11. Started the refund process just after this post.
Still no refund... £3600 short at the moment.
+2 months and counting, Virgin haven't even responded to emails or letters for 2 weeks now.

    Many families are owed +£10K
We've joined a few forums and groups and only one person has received a cash/bank refund.

Everything he says and everything he does.

As her tankbag was on the old ballistic sofa , and I was on a schedule , the Multi stayed in the garage and off we went . She had a great time , the positioning is better on the Honda and the tank flat so she was tres comfy
I enjoyed the ride and was good to meet a mate I haven’t seen for ages. Stopped in Henley and even got a coffee..

  14. Yes, it’s disappointing but we are all healthy and hopefully can go another time. Probably not for a couple of years now though due to school commitments and other stuff we have going on.
Tbh the Floridians seem to have taken a somewhat blasé approach to all this and I’ll be keeping an eye on their stats before going back.

The hotel was booked through Virgin and they refunded us straight away but I’m not expecting the flight money to be as straightforward. We won’t be accepting vouchers that’s for certain.

  15. First ride in forever. Got pulled and had a debate of motorcycling is exercise. Lost debate but no fine.

Still, broke new leathers/boots/gloves in and TPS reset has fixed the stalling and new QR fuel cap does not leak.

  18. In England it is legal to travel any distance to:
    1. buy stuff from shops allowed to be open,
    2. Go to work (If you can’t work from home),
    3. Exercise in a public place,
    4. Sunbathe in a public place,
    5. Admire the view in a public place.
Rather than trying to argue that riding a motorbike is exercise (Which the Police may not agree with), I would have a destination in mind to go and admire the view whilst eating a sandwich. That is allowable under the current rules (In England).

  19. Lovely, I much prefer the official ones over the council supplied ones.

  20. Yesterday, managed about 50 miles on myself own. Fuel stop at pay at pump and home. Serb ie indicator came on. I hate solo riding.

today I fitted the pannier racks, which needed me to remove the exhaust. Looked easy enough, but can wouldn’t budge with usual shake and pull, so gave the tin cover (which doesn’t come off without the exhaust off) a tap with a rubber mallet. Shame what looked and felt like steel actually was plastic....so it’s off the bike being glued back into 1 piece now :weary_face: then as the superglue didn’t work but left residue it will need painting.... Twat.

but my old panniers work ok (soft ones) so no need to buy new just repair a couple if fixings and Get a some momo dry sacks :upyeah:

BTW anyone looking for soft waterproof panniers or bags have a look at Momo. They are a water sports provider turned bikes kit provider and where you’l pay £500 plus for soft panniers from touratech or whoever, they do some for under £100! And reviews are fantastic.
