  1. Out on the Vulcan bomber. 32k, bit of road, bit of old railway.

  4. I do a 50 mile gravel bike loop that incorporates the old Railway line, stop at the cafe at the Chiseldon end.
    popped into the Esso for a coffee and plastic sandwich this morning on my 100 miler. Been doing a loop from Newbury to Wantage, Ashbury, Chiseldon, Marlborough, Pewsey, Then various routes back home.

  5. Is that the Farm Shop? That's where I park.

  6. :):upyeah:
    Where I ride me MTB sometimes is where Tolkien got some of his inspiration for LotR trilogy, an old fella who used to ride in our group was taught English at school by Tolkien’s Son. He was here aboutS for a while apparently.

  7. Pateley Bridge - on the coast to coast has an exciting and notorious steep hill leading into the village; but there is a catch half way down, the bends appear to tighten with water running across the middle. Managed 45mph, which was fast enough for me!

    No deals to be had as stock of most bikes is scarce, so I was told anyway.

  11. Certainly agree with the latter even if I don't achieve any of the others, with a peak of around 164 bpm hope you'll be ok Nigel. You must get through some water - I wouldn't be surprised if you have a fan even.

  12. Yep cycling boom, sales are well up. I have some kids bikes need to clear them from the garage

  13. You could be that fan bud? Oh yeah you meant a fan fan not a fan.

  14. predicted well ahead of you scud, ;) I usually add "jokes to follow". I must remember to take a "heart machine" next time i'm well enough for a long one*, can't see me ever reaching 164 bpm at my age/fat index without feeling seriously unwell.

    * that's a cycle ride @DucatiScud

  15. Fat burning zones are well below 164, from hazy memory FBZ are at 70% of your max heart rate which as a rule of thumb is 220 minus your age then 70%of the result. 164 would be my very max, but it's been a while since I did a ramp test.

  16. Whoever told you about stock levels is not lying, my local shop looks like its been ram raided, they’ve got sod all stock and have been told deliveries will be anywhere from 10 days to god know when.

  17. I struggled to find a Toughroad in Large and apparently there won’t be any more coming for some time. I got 10% of the value in customer reward points, what use they are I’m not sure but it’s better than nothing.
    Should be here by Thursday all being well.

  18. Oh yes Chris, I have a wahoo kickr headwind, marvellous bit of kit, designed for cycling, it operates on my heart rate, the more I blow the more it blows :)
