New (to me) bike arrived at 08.30 this morning . I suspect a bit of fettling and TLC will be occurring over the next few days/weeks and a new thread may be required.
Battery is 12v - usb is 5v - so a usb charge lead can’t be just a dumb straight through lead - must be stepping it down and does consume a small amount of power with nothing connected. All usb chargers you leave plugged in at home do the same regardless of any devices plugged in but it’s so small you would hardly notice it on your electricity bill. If you wire it to a switched source that only comes on with the ignition then you would be ok.
Yes, I think that is what happened. While I did feel it was getting a little weak and was planning to replace it soon? I did not ride for a week and did not yet have a trickle charger. My phone charger set up was connected to a constant on source (The Diag port) AND it has an LED display showing the voltage so I do think that had something to do with it My new set up actually DOES have a push button switch on it. Old, before being installed. New one installed and turned on. Rex

LOL . I'm sure there are one or two that are a bit tarnished, I'm just praying there's nothing seized or any left hand threads . 998S in Troy Bayliss 2002 WSBK clothes.
