  2. April 24, 1955, Dieburger Dreiecksrennen:
"This is the Horex 350 DOHC twin, which seldom appeared in races outside Germany. It is a feast for the eyes with its very extensive finning, exposed hairpin valve springs, external oil pump with a multitude of braided-steel lines (borrowed from aircraft practice), and its Indian-like ignition distributor.
The carburetors are all but invisible, pushed rearward as they are by intake extensions. You can see several small chassis tubes heading for their points of attachment to the cylinder head.
This feature and the shape of the Horex production bike’s cylinder head became prominent features of Honda’s Hawk and Super Hawk 250 and 305 twins of the early 1960s, later revived for the CBX 1,047cc six-cylinder.
At bottom right can be seen the aft loop of this bike’s leading-link suspension, so trendy in this period. The engine was said to give 36 hp at 10,000 rpm".

  3. This is a real coal-fired steam powered bike which somebody has just built. The panniers are coal bunkers. Bonkers, but also impressive ...

He bought it for 1800quid and modified it from there.

  13. "Designer Julien Rondinaud Projected A Motorcycle Concept With Three Inline Wheels!!!The idea is to keep all the fun and manoeuvrability of a two-wheeled bike, but make it harder to crash.
The first two wheels are very close together for agility, while the third wheel adding stability. All three wheels use independent swing arms and suspension units, and single disc brakes
The obvious difference between the A3W and other conventional three-wheelers is that all the three 14-inch wheels of the concept are arranged in-line.
The front wheel uses mechanical hub steering like a Bimota Tesi or Yamaha GTS. The mid wheel puts down the power, but because the front-to-mid wheelbase is shorter with the engine reversed, the drive sprocket is itself driven by a belt and pulley, to get the correct drive direction back"
