You're too young ffs. Just in case you didn't take note the first time. I'm 59 and still cannot countenance riding one. That's not to say I never will because I can see their attraction, but maybe in 15 years time or so. However, IMO we're into bikes for more than just riding them. There's the social scene as well, the camaraderie, the knowing we're all in the same 'club' and would help each other out and I just don't observe any of that when ever I encounter GS riders out and about, and there are a lot of them around here in the summer months 'doing the Wild Atlantic Way'. They never wave or acknowledge other riders when on the road, they never even acknowledge other riders when at fuel stops, they just remain aloof, whenever they stop and take their helmets off their average age must by 70 at least, when they get to their hotels for the evening they change into a jacket and slacks ffs. Is that really you? Coz, thats what your buying, the image/lifestyle, as well as the bike.
Personally when bikes get that big (GS sized) then buy a car...but then ive always preferred small bikes....as in small in physical size. There are other bikes which i reckon could be used for touring but as you say your taking your mrs....if its not right for her youll literally be henpecked at close range....
