Tip for today: Not all relationships will lead to marriage. If you're lucky, some will lead to you finding nice restaurants
Played golf with Dad on the Avon course at Woodspring , good to catch up , it's been a long time since Lockdown began , and it's always nice to get a couple of pars .
Went shopping for 'essential' items first thing and managed to scare myself witless (no, not 5h1tless) by getting the little wee Suzuki 200 up to its flat out speed on the back roads of rural Angus - Yee ha! I am now satisfied that my crankshaft balancing skills are at least OK as it did not self destruct in the process and I can still feel my finger tips. Then I finished servicing the 900ss. Its insurance ran out at the end of last month so now waiting for lockdown lifting before re-insuring. Also completed winter-proofing the CG125 and lifted it off of the 'workmate' type stands back on to the garage floor. I thought that I would be furiously struggling to finish it off as the first snow was starting to fall - not so, and we all know why; pestilential virus silver lining.. ..or something like that. I then decided that it would be best to sit in the sunshine drinking home-brew beer (not because I scared myself witless earlier, but just because I thought it was best) while listening to the not insubstantial number of bikes roaring about on the back roads. Amongst the ever predictable in-line four plastic crotch rockets it sounds like there were a few Ducatis and, I am delighted to say, some large two-stokes as well. The good weather fairly brings them out of hibernation and the blue smoke most likely contributes to killing the pestilence. MB.
About to ride out to join the Ulysses club in a funeral procession for one of our own. And it is pissing down! I know the Ulysses club is now in Britain, France, Germany and probably a few other countries too. I have been a member for a dozen years or so and on the committee for a few years as well. Our guy was one of the more popular people, a tough little guy with a warm heart and never an unkind word. I am going to take a brolly!
Just got in from the back garden - iss just went over...id say its probably over Norfolk now...roughly...
I was commuting home around a quiet and fast moving M60, so was not quite adhering strictly to the speed limit. I had about 80 (ish)* on the Speedo when I saw a car approaching in the rear view, then sitting a couple of hundred yards back. I slowed a bit and pulled in a lane to let him past, at which point I was doing about 75, then accelerated behind him back to about slightly quicker* than that. The car then gave two flashes of its hidden police lights in its rear windscreen. I waved, slowed and pulled back in, and it continued on its way. I thought it an excellent piece of policing.
Just got in and haven't ridden in rain like that for a long time! My gear only held up for a few minutes, My helmet misted up straight away, and I am wetter than an otters pocket! But! My multistrada didn't break down, started when required and got me home with no sudden onset issues! Win!

Watching the SpaceX launch build up live on the TV. It’s the first manned launch from the USA since 2011. We should have been watching it in Florida but not to be this year.
Got rid of the condensation in my headlights of the 996, not to bad a job really, sorry no pics or bins but nice and clear for now!!
Popped into local VW dealer for an oil filter And sump plug washer for daughters 2015 Polo. Filter was ~£7.50, pretty reasonable I think. Washer? ~£3.50. For a small copper crush washer!!! Then VW recommend you change sump plug at same time. A further £3.50 for a hex head bolt. I bought the filter and bolt and they threw in the washer for free. No biking at all today.
