Apologies, I have never heard of these I just assumed foolishly that you’d not grasped the name . Looks brilliant item, I’ve been told just how hot Sydney can be by herin she went to visit her sister out there for 3 weeks.
Just had a gander at my app. Only use it 'bout 50% of the time, but I reckon I'm almost up to 1000k this year/since lock down.... Hope the gyms open soon!
hey no problem, we don’t normally need such stuff in the UK I go to see my Daughter in Brisbane for 3 months, December, January and February and it gets stinking hot then, it’s normal to ride in mid 30 c’s but I have been out ( probably rather foolishly) in temps up to 41c One of the guys I ride with out there took this pic, you can see how much sweat/ salt is coming out the back of my glove ( shite Castelli things!) but look at the sleeves...nothing cos my arms were so much cooler it’s good to know such things as these exist, could come in useful sometimes
I'm certain the benefit to your legs heart and lungs more than makes up for the loss of a legs session. Do you not have any free weights at home to use for your upper body. I'm contemplating buying a concept 2 rower for when the weather turns.
Castelli shite!!! always rated their stuff although I buy Galibier cycle gear these days. I'm just hoping my Rock Racing kit lasts a few more Months I'll be sad when that wears out.
That comment of mine on the Castelli gloves was probably a little harsh, I’ve got lots of other Castelli stuff, my favourite bit of bike kit ever is my Castelli Gabba long sleeve, brilliant bit of kit! But these gloves...I think the model is “Arenberg” or something ( after the Belgian area / race ) as soon as I got them they just started falling apart, stitching came away in all the fingers and the bloody Velcro just doesn’t want to know, not worth the money imo.
Yeah - have a set of dumbbells, doing my best with them while gym is shut. I will be keeping up the cycling when the gym re-opens, just scale it back a little. While this weather is so good, it's madness to stay inside, I might even do a bit of boarding down the Thames this week as well...
I've some Castelli arm warmers that got given to me as they didn't fit my mate as he's short everywhere, been very good. I don't wear gloves or mats only in Winter. Arenberg I think refers to Paris-Roubaix Spring classic race that is legendary for how tough it is, a section of which is Trouee de Arenberg. Which I think translates as the Arenberg Trench a short but super tough cobbled road, I've ridden it a few times and can confirm it is truly horrific if not taken at speed all along it's length. Every time I've done the route I've double taped my bars. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trouée_d'Arenberg
Ah.....all clear now . Perhaps, my bad ;-) (as the young'un's say). Works been no different except x3 as busy!
Took this beauty out today, 1995 GT Zaskar that I had built from new, 25 years old this summer .... RockShox Judy SL's, snowflaked Mavic Sunset Rims, Kore Stem, Onza Porcupine grips on Kore bars, Amoeba bar ends etc ....
sheer luck, I went almost straight to it! I haven’t looked at the clock but must’ve done about 14 today, this is a really lovely old pub once you get inside and you can sit next to the Thames in the back garden. It looks a little run down and of course it’s shut, last time I was here was nine years ago with a good mate of mine who is gone now.
