I've got Barkbusters and engine bars on my Multi. Turns out... they work! I road tested both of them yesterday. I've only road-tested the left-hand side. Hopefully I don't have cause to road-test the right-hand side any time soon But if you don't have engine bars or Barkies on your bike, get them. Defo saved my plastics and paintwork.
Sounds more dramatic than it was. It was a classic horizontal parking incident. It was the result of being a 5'5" short arse and insisting on manhandling a Multi. My pride came off worse than my engine bars. But thank you for your concern!
Is it possible to get a custom seat that lowers the height but custom materials still give you comfort?
Hi sorry to hear about your mis adventure I have same problem is that I'm a short arse too and I'm just waiting for this to happen to myself my question being have you done anything to the lowered seat or is it A standard loward seat as I was thinking of cutting it down a bit further replacing the foam with memory foam Thanks for Any input Thanks
It's the standard lowered seat. Not sure I'd want to cut it down tho. There's not that much in the way of padding and it gets hot!
Also, just a thought, but have you thought about a sheepskin cover for your seat? I've got one and it doesn't add a huge amount of height but it defo makes it a lot more comfy. It's just enough padding, I find. It also looks a bit "game of thrones", which adds extra kudos points
Could be. Have you also looked at your suspension settings? Makes a massive difference to me whether I'm in touring or sports for example.
Would put in urban to get on the bike, then change the rider mode. Urban default suspension settings are lower.
Looking good! Perhaps a slightly random comment but if you ever take your bike on a ferry, do NOT let them ratchet it down over the seat. The lower seats (with less padding) have a tendency to fold themselves in half when you ratchet them down ans yours has even less padding. Defo handlebars only. (I has this problem on a ferry from Ireland to Wales. Made the ride home uncomfortable...)
Apatchy, I've the same inside leg as you but I can use the side stand on my DVT ok. Is it different too a PP. I use my heel to kick it down where the return spring is, and kick it back with the back of my heel no problem.
Ahhhh!.........a TS, yes it is more awkward on one of them, contemplated welding a tang on the side stand myself when I had one. But then had a test ride on a DVT, no competition.
Any more feed back on your seat I too have brought a cheap lowered seat off eBay to do a similar think happy to cut down with a bread knife but what did you use to smooth it pictures please Thanks
