Nodding......again

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by plug, May 18, 2013.

  1. Out on the mutli the other day and found myself nodding to a couple of trikes, they both nodded back but I thought afterwards, should I have ?
Is nodding at trikes 'allowed' ?

  2. Oh noes....................you didn't did you. Please go and hide uner the nearest rock and dont come out till it gets dark.

  3. definitely - you only have to think of the reason why most people are riding them..

  4. Quite a lot of people who ride trikes do so because of a physical disability which prevents them from riding a two wheeled bike, so in my opinion they deserve the utmost respect and definitely a nod even though you might not get one in return!.

  5. How about secondary thanks?

Your in a queue of traffic and the guy in front is turning right, an oncoming vehicle slows/stops to let him turn, do you give the guy a thank you wave for letting the guy in front make his turn?

  6. Interesting Mark - never thought about that one - you're in a car right? I have a traffic junction scenario near me that I find infuriating but too complex to relate easily - I might have a bash one day if I can manage to master some graphics software.

  7. Yes always, as an x lorry driver I show my appreciation to anyone that helps to keep me moving.

  8. If I had been queueing for ages and trickling at sub-5 mph I reckon I would as well Steve thinking about it.

  9. ive eased up on the whole nodding thing...i used to adhere to 'the code'....hence ignoring Beemers and Hardly Ablesons....might as well nod to urself..now i nod to anyone on two (or three) wheels without L plates (Robin Reliants not withstanding)...

my fave is giving or receiving a cool sideways nod just at the point of tip in to a fast corner....it says,

"I may be dressed like a power ranger, sliding my arsehole off the seat and styling it up for this corner that im going into too fast, without care for my licence...but im sooo fkn cool, that ive still got time to do a 'this is just how i roll, be careful out there' nod"...the corner may be total butchery but by then youve made the point and no one knows what a total tosser one really is.

  13. When I was 16, I was going to work on my Fizzy and was nodded at by a GT 750(kettle). I got so excited that I nearly crashed.

............. about 10 years ago I pulled up at a set of lights on my R1.

There was a group of about 6 kids with their L plated mopeds parked up staring at my bike.:upyeah:

As I rode passed them I gave them a wave and they all waved back with great enthusiasm.

So please wave/nod at L plate mopeds as well !
