  2. Sounds great, done the 'ring couple of yrs ago on the fireblade. Loved it.

Would like to spend more time there but works out pricey and we headed to the black forest.

Try and organise with some 'togs and they will snap you when you are there. You can then buy the photos when youcome home. Something i never though of.

    Enjoy.

  3. Im off there ithe first week of august any takers?

  4. Im off there on the 10th May mate, getting the 8.30pm ferry from Hull and we'll be at the ring Friday 11th, sat, Sunday and Monday before we head back.

Its our first trip of the year, normally go twice a year so were pretty well versed on everything over there by now ;)

Look out for two blades, a ninja with a girl riding (a fast girl) and a youngish lad on a Gsxr 750

Ride safe and have a great time

  5. What bike you on now Damo, still got the 8 mate? I'm off over there in August, hopefully the weather will be better than it is now although that cant be guarenteed I'm sure. Staying at Martins place, Burgstube Hotel in the village.

  6. How you getting here, ferry or Chunnel, and what time? Four of us off to Assen for the Ducati club races (848 guys) and are on the 1110 Chunnel by car

  7. Well currently got the blade (2010) and a mint R6 track spec 2009 screamer, the RC had to go early this year mainly due to me not ever being able to get it on track with the Akra and also I kinda have my eye on a new Ducati but that's work dependant and I might wait for the 899 ;)

  8. Not on a run to the ring. Easy 100 plus, well all the ones I've rides with have been, unless your150 all the way

  9. Say hello to Brendan and Andy for me. Andy especially was a mine of useful information when it came to my first trip to the ring. Well, he couldn't offer anything else but information, seeing as he was plaster-casted from head to toe last time I saw him...

  10. I am ;)

  11. So who you going with Drinky? Taking the new rc8r?

  12. I'm going August 16th - 19th mate, it's DTM weekend on the GP circuit so as well as the Ring there some serious Mullet watching to be had. Yes mate, I'll be taking the R over this time. I'm picking up a new one (the 2010 model on a 12 plate, £8,000 with £500 worth of any Power parts thrown in) on the 15th which I'm putting straight onto the track after its been run in. I've had to sell the Gixxer and the Enduro bike but hopefully it will be worth it. Got a set of wheels and full set of track fairings sorted out and ready to go.

  13. :biggrin:thats Bren most of the time!!

i'll also tell jules on the 1098 (who might see this on this forum) that 100 miles should be ok...no way its 150mph all the way..he rides everywhere at a steady 56mph .....tight fugger lol

  14. Good luck getting an RC8 on track if anything othe than a well baffled standard system!!

  15. I've got an Akra on the R but that's just for the road, the track bikes going to stay standard as like you say there's no way it would get on track anywhere now adays.

  16. Its shite that isn't it.

I may do what you've done and keep the R6 for track hooning and look out for a decent 2009/2010 R version.

Saying that I also hear there's a new RC coming......now that'll be shit hot

  17. The difference between the old 8 and the new R is vast, it's so much better once you've adjusted to the colour scheme.

  18. i guess maybe you were talking of the Ring...they are sh!t hot on noise testing now..i have got some baffles for my Termigs but they still might not pass..
i squeezed in last year with my KTM SDR with AKRAs and baffles but only by 1db..most in our group are newbies to the ring and trying to tell them to either fit a standard can or beefy mufflers falls on deaf ears..i have also been told by Bren that the Kraut Gestapo..sorry i mean those nice German Police types fine you for having exhausts without the "E" Stamp and this can be as much as 600euros
Last time we were with Bren in September, one of his crowd got a 1000euro fine for doing 148mph on his blade on the road, moments before he trashed it..so not only did he write his bike off he swelled the local polizei's coffers...i agree 148MPH was a bit stupid....should have been doing 158mph then maybe he would have missed the car that pulled out and missed the coppers setting up their speed trap...

  19. There was no noise testing when we were there last year. I was on my Daytona with a straight through system.
Going again in 2 weeks, I hope they're not testing as I now have a MTS with MiVV decat and Termi straight through can!!

  20. there was a couple of guys in September with Austin Racing cans on his Aprila RSV4 (118DB)!!! I think they got the tester out of its box when they heard him coming down the A258 from Monschau!!! Spoiled it for a couple of guys in our group too!!!

Cameras are another big no no...i tried to hide a gopro...nope!!! got spotted and had to remove it..
