Wanted: 748/916 Headlamp Unit.

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by big_duc, Jun 8, 2020.

  1. After the repainting of my 22 year old headlamp unit [see thread] I now finally have it in the 'as new' appearance I wanted - I'm saddened to report the unit has fallen on the garage floor and broken ! :(
Barring a couple of small stone chips it was 'mint' so I'm looking to replace like with like because I can glue the jigsaw back together and call it serviceable if I have to.

Perhaps there is a fellow forum member that has a nice unit squirreled away somewhere and has thought about moving it on into 'the family' just as I did with my spare Showa shock last week?

Under the miserable circumstances I'd be pleased to hear from anybody that thinks they can help.

    Karma and all that.........

    Thank you one and all.

  2. Oooh f**k:astonished: You're talking about the glass unit(s) right? Not the headlamp bucket?

  3. Yes Paul, the twin glass lamp unit not the gold bucket it slots into.

  4. Can't help with a replacement I'm afraid but that's a damn shame having just cleaned it all up :sob:

  5. Find another that has a broken lens on the other side. Make a good one out of 2 damaged ones.

  6. What side is broken or is it both?

  7. The dipped beam glass lens and the main beam plastics ..... so the whole unit because the latter is the one piece moulding.

  8. Thanks anyway - plse send tea and sympathy ;)

  11. Thanks for checking my thread - yes I am still looking.
If it's not too much trouble I'd love to see some good quality images as and when you have the time.

  12. Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen,

My needs have not changed and so far have not been met :(
    Anyone?

  13. If you haven't heard from @ducatistic perhaps PM him that way he will get an E-Mail drawing his attention, just using the @ will only draw his attentions if he is logging in, which he hasn't for nearly five weeks.

  14. Thankyou so much Steve.
Yes, I (eventually) worked out that PM would be best and have done so. 'ducatistic' is currently unresponsive so I've concluded that he has important 'other stuff' going on and as a consequence is unable to help.
