The extension rod looks like this and it’s 10mm long. All DOT4 brake fluid is not the same but if you are not ragging the arse off your bike and overworking the brakes, any recognisable make like Motul and even Halfords own brand will be fine. Andy
It should never get hot.... it's just a remote clutch slave.... Surely a lower DOT would be fine? More stable over time ?
I was confusing myself with brakes and not clutch. Service book states DOT4 so I’d go with it. I use Motul 660 in the brakes and clutch so I’ve only got one bottle kicking around. Andy
First of all met er indoors at ‘we buy any car’ as they bought her mums corsa, fantastic deal can’t believe they paid that much, then off to Swindon to look at a Kia Ceed sport wagon which she eventually bought after a bit of haggling, great car for the money.
Thanks Andy, Is the ball bearing part of the assembly (i.e. in addition to the extension rod - which I don't think I need)? Cheers Neil
When you put the part number in the internet, it comes back with the oberon page which doesn’t show a ball bearing. I’m as confused as you. The extension piece is for pre 2000 bikes which had a shorter push rod. Andy
I’ve been given this as part of my dear old mums clear out policy she’s currently undertaking. I was was brought back by my dad from Hong Kong when he was in the merchant navy, stuffed with Rolex watches or so the story goes! It’s empty now
Fitted some Triumph Frame Protectors to the Striple this lunchtime. Front bolts fasten to a locknut buried behind exhausts and radiator. Judicious use of extensions and wobble bar allowed the fit without having to take anything other than the original bolt and locknut off.
Looks like a new way of fitting split links....never seen this before....looks like the little wirey bits hold the x rings in place...
