  1. See what 'appens but i ordered a stock chainset so it appears mines got one tooth lower on the front the old chainset....and i thought it was long geared!....but its only ever seen just over 170 maxed out....not sure what to expect....i may prefer it - not sure....easy to change though if i need to....

  2. Just got back from BSD Peterborough where I had my Nemesis re mapped and generally sorted to match the 70mm system I recently fitted on the Tricolore.
The improvement over how it was is impressive and the service and attention from Mark and Andy was superb.
Highly recommend anyone who wants any work done especially mapping etc to go and see them. Everything done without fuss and a proper talk through all the adjustments from Mark when complete.
Bike now rides superbly and the 90 mile ride home was total pleasure. :upyeah::grinning:

  3. Have you got a quad stake riveter for that link or are you doing it the old fashioned way, a normal riveter won't peen it over.

  4. Ive got an afam link thingy....i must confess its not made a dent in it...although i probably could do it up a bit tighter...

  5. Normal split links are slightly hollow on the end to allow for the peening over, the renthal is solid, it needs a quad stake riveter or as I did the old fashioned way and used two Hammers, the wire things help to stop you making the link to tight, don't leave them in.

  6. Yep....links out ....managed to make a dent...as it were....i was wondering before i left....shall i clean all thr wax off....? No i thought....they all say it should stay on....well..it didnt....

  8. I fitted a new can on the monster and put new sprockets on the track gsxr1000. Was only using 5 gears at Snetterton

  9. The quad stake is quite expensive, like you I only have the normal one, I used the old and tested method, a lump hammer behind and a ball pein hammer to peen it over taking care not to make the link too tight.

  11. Nice cycle ride this morning, home before the Mrs was dressed. She was doing a food shopping list, which I went and did. Been defrosting the freezer for a couple of hours. Loads of brownie points, I can feel a full day out on the bike happening.

  13. @Birdie - ive found the quad stake riveter...does that need the motion pro chain link tool to make it work or can you get that on its own to do the job...?

  14. Up to Coventry to have blood sample taken for covid antibody test. Demand must be high - price has gone up 30% in less than a week. Called by Stratford Triumph on way home, decent bacon and sausage bap enjoyed from food van outside.

  15. Havn't really looked into it lately, I have seen the ends for sale but wasn't sure if they would fit my riveter, didn't want to buy the complete tool for the odd chain every few years.

  16. Took out the air pistol and some beer, went down the cellar to shoot the empty cans with the wife, red neck style.

    Highly recommended stress relief.
