Well not really a newbie, just never owned a Ducati before in 50 years of motorcycling! OK, so I currently own a 2017 Yamaha Super Tenere, a great bike but..... Well you know how it is! I would like something that combines a slightly sporty side with enough comfort to do anything between 300 and 500 miles a day touring in U.K. and Europe. I suppose you can see where this I’d heading! Yes, I quite like the look of a Multistrada. I also like the look of the BMW S1000XR, but BMW dealers and salespeople give me the $hits! Also, I quite like twins, (who doesn’t!), so Ducati it will probably be then. The one that has taken my eye is the Multistrada 1200 DVT, mainly because I certainly can’t afford a new bike, so I am looking at 2016-2017 models with less than 10000 miles on and a FSH. I am a bit concerned about the niggles such as fuel sender failure, etc. and also where to get it serviced although Louigi Moto in Bristol is only about an hour away. OK, so now I am rambling when I should be trawling through the Forums and asking questions there. Looking forward to picking your brains and getting to know some of you.
Welcome to the Forum Longdog. Multistrada it is then, I look forward to the first pics (with obligatory bins in background).
Welcome chap, this thread might be worth a read? https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/which-1200-is-the-best-and-why.65847/
Hi LongD We like pictures especially bin pics it’s a newbie rule and keeps me happy Welcome into our mad house
Thanks for the welcome and the pointer to the “best 1200” thread, but pics of bins??? What am I getting myself into?
welcome longdog, yeah the sender issue is annoying. But you just rely upon the trip computer. It doesn't make the bike not work'
Well, I have had a look around and there just might be a bin in the background shot of my current bike, but if not, then maybe we can count the black "bins" attached to my bike! Got to keep the Mods happy!
