I'm 22. got my first duke aged 17 and was proud to won two aged 18 still have both! though that's about to change
Average Ducati rider age? Who gives a fuck? I want to know how old exceptional Ducati riders are! I am an exceptional Ducati rider - I'm the fastest Ducati rider in my street! :smile: I'm nine-years-old, but born just over 50 years ago, own two Ducatis and have ridden Ducs for ten years now. There, now you know more about me than even I do :smile:
I would have put the average at 48. I'm 41.... Going on 313 now! I reckon it applies to a lot if bikers. Harley's more so. Can I be rude and ask how many of you had a break from biking due to family commitments or stuff?
ive never not had a bike, family commitments or not, never could quite understand that, i love bikes!
I started biking at 16 and went through till I was 22. Then I had a "break" from 22 through to when I was 34. Not stopped since. :smile:
A couple of breaks for me. Accident/serious injury - followed by a destroyed bike a year later - so I was off bikes for about six years from 1996. This was partly a decision to spare my family further scares. Then another four year break up until 2010 due to an entirely fuggered financial situation (which sort of continues to this day, but fuck it :smile: )
Got my first bike 32 years ago. Never not had one since. I agree with Kev - I love motorcycling, so I doubt anyone would be able to stop me doing it. I did have a girlfriend who pretty much said that if we had kids, the bike would have to go as the risk wouldn't be fair on the children. Which I suppose is why she never became my wife, partly.
So is it motorcycling or gardening that you prefer? The latter is getting too much of your attention lately in my view :wink:
Well I'm 51 and with getting my first Duke at 50 but was bike less from 23 to 45 due to first wife and 3 kids who between them spent more money than I could earn!
Because I am exceedingly kind and curious, I have worked out the average age on the basis of the posts so far. From the 78 people who have divulged the info, the average age is 46.2 years old (a total age of 3603 years). So if we get any more answers, you won't have to work it all out from scratch again. I did put Phoenix's age down at 85, but I don't know if he's just having a laugh.
