Today/ yesterday Cbr got some new bits, ti brake hardware, corsa corta, hel lines, lsl rearsets, taylormade exhaust and some frame protectors. Came across a v4 in the wild, what a sound!
M900 wheeled out from under cover for at least a year, possibly to sell. Connected battery up and after a wiggle at solenoid plug it coughed and churned into life almost first time on the old fuel and was idling with no choke after 3 minutes! cheered me up that something's gone right.
Did another filming run today as it was supposed to be sunny, stopped for fuel and a coffee on the way back and noticed an oily mist over the rear of the crankcases , well bu**er me, the top of the crankcase breather valve has split away from the base. Now I e got to remove the petrol tank (and probably the exhausts) to get clear access to it.
breathtaking scenery, well diagnosed, hope it's not too bad price-wise is, it a bespoke hose or could you "modify"?
Because it had been precipitating down (the kind of rain you can hardly see through) all night - and was still doing so in the morning - decided to sort out the garage and bike spares etc. During the day it was either scorching sunshine and wind or pissing down rain and even hail at one point - mad. Did manage to cut the from grass though before spending most of the afternoon sampling various home-brew beers. Then made chicken curry with onion, chilli and butter dumplings. (Also made that yesterday as a solstice feast so if I continue like this will no doubt end up fat!). Not too sure that the cat was overly pleased with me sitting my beer on her piece of carpet though.
Thought it was going to read, 9km walk ran out of fuel lovely part of England. Might visit once Sammy Millar museum is open and Bovington. Lovely bike by the way..
Down to mum and dads for Father’s Day. Took scones (plain, NOT CHEESE) and clotted cream. Took their gates off front drive with angle grinder, fixed dent on dads car (yup, he hit the gates hence the removal) and then home the long way. So did 185 miles on the bike today and felt great. Have to say what a fantastic all round road bike the street triple is. Oh. Also did 155 miles before I had to refuel.
It's the breather valve, part no33 in the pic. below. When I serviced it recently I noticed the bell top had come away from the base which contains the reed valves. I removed it, re-bonded the 2 halves together and refitted it. Clearly the glue I used to bond it didn't hold for very long . I'll try something else or simply get a new one to replace it. It's no big deal, just a bit of a pain to get to. I reckon it will take me longer to remove the plastic around the fuel tank and then remove the fuel tank and exhausts than it will to fix/replace it. The other buggeration factor is I'd just filled up the tank before I noticed it. I mean REALLY filled it, and it was only 20km from home.
I do hope that you haven't forgetten to use social media to say "Happy Father's Day" to your dad who doesn't use social media, and won't see it today.
We Went to harrogate this evening with a couple of bottles for my dad ...met a very nice chap on a lovely yellow 996 @PeterT ? I think it was ...I think
Been up since 3:30am prepping the van for work in the City today. Just about to head off. Silly amount of aeroplanes landing this morning already.... Mostly middle East, Indian and african airlines.. clearly they had no pandemic there?
