Is it possible to strip the instrument cluster on the 999s. The lcd panel is missing parts of numbers and i suspect the cabling under the panel might need some cleaning. It is easy enough to remove the casing but am hesitant to go any further without getting some advice from someone in the know.

The 749/999 dash comes apart really easy using a flat blade screwdriver. The circuit board will then come out. To get to the LCD you may need to remove the tacho needle. It is friction held on the spindle and will lever off. I have some needle gauge removers but some have used the two spoon method. When reassembling it is important to recycle the needle spindle by connecting it to power before pushing the needle carefully back on. https://picclick.co.uk/Ducati-999-749-2003-2006-Clocks-Dials-Speedometer-163839871130.html
