  1. It must be true as it's stamped on the seat unit.;)

  2. Think only SP3 had a numbered plaque?

  4. That example is in the USA - knowing Ducati they could have given the USA plaques and not Europe - not sure why though :thinkingface:

  5. Or the owner fancied making his more special and made one up - lots of SP anomalies to confuse the buyer :thinkingface: carbon airbox sir? Shouldn't have a front white number board either. And nobody knows for sure if the SP2 will have titanium con rods.
    It looks nice but will probably end up going for silly money so I don't need to worry :D

    If you're on the market for a machine that makes zero-compromises when it comes to performance, then the 1996 MY Ducati 916SP2 may be the right choice for you.

    It has, at its heart, a fuel-injected, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin powerplant paired to a six-speed manual transmission, and can produce a claimed 131 horsepower at 10500 rpm.

    In addition, this machine comes packed full of race-grade components, such as the Ohlins rear suspension, the TiN-coated Showa upside-down fork, Brembo brakes both in the front and in the rear, cast-magnesium wheels, as well as the latest technologies developed by Ducati's racing team.

  7. Surely MY1996 was SP3 :thinkingface::D

  8. Are the they normally a year ahead? Ie MY 96 is launched 95.

    I’m intrigued how they got 131Hp from an sp2 and sp3 when both we’re 916 engines....

  9. Jhp dyno..

  10. SP - 1994
    SP2 - 1995
    SP3 - 1996

    Some one tell him as he's still grumpy with me :joy:

  11. They're glued into place on the early ones.

  12. Pretty sure just the SP3 had a plaque, which was glued/bonded to the headstock. I removed mine as I suffered a couple of attempts to prise it off when parked :-(
