I did stay! And after lunch the track was bone dry. Game on! A little DIY tick on my ‘sighting lap’ sticker thing and off we go.... then after the outlap my dash went all discotheque. Engine light on and my quick shift went all tits.... came in, wouldn’t start again. Looks like the gear sensor and or quick shift is knackered. Threw a right wobbler into the ECU. One of those days. On and on PS loads of carnage. Marshals must have been knackered waving those yellow and red flags all day
That's unlucky mate I've had my fair share of those type of days. I hope its a quick fix. I'm there on Monday and hoping for a sensible day while I get the bike setup.
Weather looking better next week mate If you leave a track day with yourself and your bike in one piece it’s not bad. Packed lunch was lovely.... yum yum
I'd have pressed like for the getting out, but then what happened later just sucks so can't press anything.
When I was at Donington it was pre organised with the organiser. Three per garage (most are doubles) so 3 a side.
There was a few on gennys yeah. Not that many though dude the day wasn’t over subbed like some days lately
Yes mate from what I've been told. Garages weren't available when I booked so I guess it's first come first served when booking.
You don’t sound too pissed about the situation I’m guessing you weren’t too fed up with not been out with the carnage going on around you? Sometimes things happen for a reason at least you and bike are in one bit and go again
Yesterday (Donington) there were a few guys outside on Jennifer’s. But it was all pretty relaxed and I didn’t sense any mad scramble for garage slots. Some guys pre plan to set up outside. As Advikaz said, it was 3 bikes per garage side. Which was wonderful! It was nice having loads of room. Might have been a different story had it been a scorcher. I’d say a few guys sacked it due to dodgy weather forecast.
I hear there was a lot of shunts in the afternoon. A friend of mine got rear ended in to the foggy esses
Exactly. There was a LOT of crashes.... Heard a bizarre story that a guy died at Snet last Tuesday. Lost control in the pit garage and fired himself into the opposite wall. Poor bugger if it’s true
Trouble was it was wet all morning then dried out for the afternoon. I guess everyone went bansai and thought ‘that’s it, we’re all safe now.... loads of grip!’ Oops....
Guys can trip up on the kerbs too after wet weather. The kerbs stay damp longer and can be slippery as feck...
