Mate PP is serious money. Saw a flipped one go the other day for 55k and apparently that was 'cheap'. I'll try find the post.
Only you know what you like. Are you spending big for the sake of it or because the watches appeal? How about something slightly left field-a Bronze watch Or perhaps something from Magrette ,an NZ firm.
Yeah not a PP. Professional models of Rolex & Omegas I mean yeah they are very expensive but you can still wear every day. Patek's you have to be on some serious income to wear it from rise to set without worrying.
I didn’t realise there was a watch section here. I’m thinking of selling my IWC Ingenieur Chronograph ref IW372501 if anyone is interested? But I’m not 100% sure if I want to sell or not! It had a massive service at IWC a few years ago but I didn’t not have the case refinished for originality reasons plus I wear it so you expect a few marks. I have the original box, a
Never really liked the look of IWC but a guy with a 991 C2S we got chatting to the other day at Coombe had one on and I must say in the flesh was very smart.
I’m sorry, I stopped writing because I don’t really want to sell it, we’ve been through a lot together me and him! I didn’t realise my half finished post went live. Here is the watch anyway, read about how the Ingenieur and Milgauss came into being its a really great story from the beginning of the nuclear age which is why I bought it.
IWC have (and have had) a huge variety of designs, but what the guy in the Porsche needed was something like this (admittedly a divers watch rather than a drivers )
Sat here thinking about you question and I am not sure of the answer. I would like a green face chronograph type watch. There is a Citizen about £300, a Jaguar about £350 and a Tag at £2195, all very similar. The Rolex equivalent is really silly money. Started to come down from the clouds so will probably go for a Jaguar and then have another in 6 months time rather than blow the lot on one purchase.
Patek if you can get one for reasonable money, seriously sought after, the pilot is beautiful in the flesh, I was oh so nearly tempted, was close and had it on my wrist https://www.chrono24.co.uk/patekphilippe/pilot-travel-time--id15195479.htm rolex Daytona hold their value but everyone is wearing em now. Omega do well with some of their top end models. I’ve got a Hublot oceanographic limited edition 1 of a 1000 if your interested, it’s a behemoth of a timepiece
Agreed Rolex is mad money (from a Rolex wearer), how do you like the Tudor range? Black bays are cracking. The thinking man's Rolex some would say.
I have an APH Daytona, only ever seen a few others asides mine. Do see a few two tones around as they were a lot cheaper second hand at one point. See more subs or day dates on a president.
