  1. Having a field day today, Chico Lorenzo is blabbing off how negotiations between his son and Ducati are progressing full steam ahead :joy: Andy

  2. AM confirmed at LCR for next year, leaving Cal C's only option to continue in MotoGP been Aprilia it seems now :(

  3. Strangely quiet at Aprilia and still no news about Ianonne’s appeal against his ban. I’m not a fan of Cal as a person but you cannot deny he has performed at the highest level (however inconsistently) of the sport, just not sure what he could bring to Aprilia. Andy

  4. Yeah i think your correct there Andy, i don't think he'd have the patience to move the Aprilia forwards. But as you say he has been up there at the top and he's a much nicer chap in person than he appears on the TV :upyeah:

  5. I like cal in moto gp as he has an edge to him he doesn’t just give it corporate bollox, I read on here ages ago him and his dad were a couple of tools in jhp and somehow believe it but I do like his riding yes unpredictable never know if he will finish but could win or top 3-5 place finish .....how many people moan about Johnny rea, Steve Davies in his snooker prime, indeed mm now, or anyone who is consistently winning and predictable the masses moan about consistent brilliance ....I like cal and his constant inconsistency.....I know what I mean

I also got a feeling redding might return in a year or two and offer something ....we need a Brit in moto gp

  6. I like his funny foreign accent..

  8. I’m not sure I get it  Just read the statement from HRC on the MotoGP web site talking up the retention of Alex Marquez for 2 years to ride for LCR. Surely, this is a smack in the gob for AM, losing the factory ride and going to the satellite team. It’s demotion isn’t it ? Andy

  9. Just watched a video of the Lucio Cecchinello interview where he explains Cal’s exit and although I’ve never been a fan of peoples’ ability to read body language, yep, HRC shafted Cal right and proper. Great guy, did a lot for LCR and Honda to develop the bike, won races and got podiums but f**k off, your face don’t fit because we need to find somewhere to dump Alex Marquez. Andy

  10. Don’t underestimate body language Andy I have and do read it commonly mate, border force and police especially traffic read body language very well.

I’m not happy about this cal situation either he certainly deserves a top 5 capable bike imo

Probably not helped his situation him talking up his retirement not exactly words of someone with fire in his belly and with a new child maybe Honda thought we will move before he quits mid season etc

  11. Cal's stats don't stack to anything more than a second class satellite team or Aprillia/Suzuki/KTM ride.

  12. Don’t agree but that’s just opinion I have, when he is staying on and everything is working right he is a top 5 threat all day long...not elite but a lot nearer elite than back of the pack, stats can say what they want but the reality is he is quick and a threat right up to the point of evacuation

  13. If you want to hear Alberto Puig’s take on why HRC signed Pol Espargaro, you have to sign up to the MotoGP video pass ...... well, didn’t want to know anyway, so stuff em :joy: Andy

  14. Poor bugger, 10 minutes since this thread was started and no one has bothered to type for poor old Cal, so I did.

I guess what goes around comes around here?

  15. Threads merged

  16. I think Cal on an Aprilia will be confirmed within the next month, I've got very mixed feelings on it, but If I was him I'd want to see it at the first 2 races before putting pen to paper, if it blows it's guts up and is 15kph slower down the straights then he may be less convinced. It does seem that they have finally taken a step though.
