1260 Pannier Attachment

When I got 'nudged' in Belgium on my 1200 the impact cracked the subframe - it wasn't cheap but labour wasn't huge. Obviously can't help with part numbers but you should be able to find a spare parts catalogue with the likes of Fowlers.

Is it not on here, part 1 or 17?

Do you mean where the panniers lock into the subframe by the pillion seat or at the bottom front of the pannier where it slides onto the rubber “foot” for a better word nest to the pillion foot pegs?

 

You will want to be sure what the dealer "reckons" is actually the case.
The rear pannier slots are part of the small pan below the pillion , this also forms the grab rail around the pillion, part number 55910161C. You will not like the price on this but simple to replace. The front pannier slots are small items bolted to the inside of the subframe, part number 8291D813A. Inexpensive but more difficult to get at. You can see these between the subframe and under seat tray.
So be sure the rear slots are broken before buying that part

 

Did the same with my 1260 my friend knocked it over with the panniers on. The front bracket broke as its only plastic the rear is part of the aluminium subframe and unlikely to brake just falling over.

Its part number 13 or 16 depending which side you want and relatively cheap, its also quite an easy fix. When the items around it are removed the plastic tray that holds all the electrics has enough play to lift up about four inches enough for you to get to the two bolts that hold it on, there is no reason to even remove the battery.

The rear is part of the plastic passenger grab rail and tool bag tray. As easy to break as the plastic front ones. A very expensive part

 

My 1200 dvt when I bought it had both the upper rear mounting holes broken. If you are careful and patient you can make a piece to fit in the holes that can be every bit as good as new without removing anything. I did a writeup on this forum somewhere about how I fixed mine. And they have done many thousand km since with no probs. And yes, as above as TaskMule says, it is part of the whole rear plastic assembly, expensive and time consuming to replace.
