V4 More Useless Tat

  1. I have slowly been replacing all the Ducati by Rizoma parts that were fitted to my V4 as standard.

  2. Yeah, I winced when Ducati got into bed with Rizoma.
They do the occasional clever part, but as a whole they aren't something that you lust after.

  3. Yes, a big lesson learnt and a disappointment for me. The Rizoma bits were standard on my V4 and are now wrapped up in the loft with the original fairings, headlight, mirrors and seat. Andy

  4. I like their levers. I got some Rizoma rearsets for my V4S for £580. They are ok, but not at the level of CNC Racing.

  5. I like their bar end mirrors and grips.

  7. How is the overall quality of the Spider rearsets? Good linkage construction/bushing clearances etc to minimise free play?

  8. Spider originally offered two versions for the V4, a road version and a race version but I now see they only offer the Evo which looks very similar to my SBK Race. I have been delighted with the build quality and the engineering that has gone into the design. I have large feet and have always struggled to set the right position for my toe and still get a smooth change. The Spider has an adjuster for lever position that is independent of the gear change set up. Zero free play in the gear change operation and I have not fluffed a gear change or hit a false neutral since they were fitted unlike the Ducati by Rizoma rear sets that were fitted from new. I was sold the moment I was shown them fitted to a certain BSB rider’s V4 RS ;) Andy

  9. Just had a look at those and they do look the bollox. I’m a life long engineer and observed that if something looks right it usually is :):upyeah:

  11. Oooh, that’s an opportunity to get rid of a bit more dosh. Where and how much?

And of course, are they any good? Ah, scratch that- they look cool
