Looking to get a second set of wheels for my 996s currently on Marchesini 5 spokes. 3 spokes are readily available but not my cup of tea. So other than more 5 spokes are there other wheels from other bikes that fit in ?
Your 996 has the smaller diameter rear axle of the two available. The 848 wheels will fit and that is about it. 1098/1198 front will fit but the rear won’t. None of the Panigale range fit, wide track forks and large diameter rear axle. You could try and find a set of OZ but rare second hand. Andy

Likewise on my 916; No, modding required as they are 916/996/998/748 specific. If you use 848 wheels, rear maybe fine but you'll have to find suitable front brake discs as they are 5-hole and 5-hole discs are greater offset than (old) 6-hole, so not straightforward.
@RickyX was selling a set of those wheels off his Monster 1100S, I now not if they are exactly the same ie bolt hole/sizes.
Didn't know you were on here cowboy....! Forgot you had the 996. I think Chester has a set hes just about to take of his Hyper, looks like a smaller axle than the Pani's, worth asking him, find out if they will fit.
Love those OZ wheels but would want a different colour. I have just bought a 996 sps. 2000 model. Are they forged Marchesini wheels ? Sorry I’m not near the bike. I want to go light weight and was considering carbon wheels
