It’s a thorn I think Sy! That was after I had a faff with it and snapped the top off a bit! The joys of living in the sticks!
Put 3 tanks of fuel through the Bayliss over and around the Yorkshire Dales, ended up at the local for a rest
Decided to check my MAP sensors 'cos Rider's diagnostics said it was the vertical-cylinder one that threw up last-week's EML light incident... What a joke my £5 internet manual is! Take off the bodywork and the fuel-pump cover, then: HAHAHAHAH ....an hour later, I've taken the battery & ECU out, snipped a load of cable ties to lift the tank out and get to this state: ...to reveal my perfectly-fine MAP sensors: All plumbing to the manifolds are ok, wiring's as good as new (fuck me - it's only 2 yrs old so it bloody should be!) so I'm none the wiser. Oh well, at least I now know how long it takes to get to the air filter or the vertical spark plug... Should have gone for a ride in the sunshine instead
This morning I started to mop the lounge carpet. Every now and then, I feel obliged to make a gesture aimed at discouraging my wife from asking me to do things
In 1964, I fell off my bicycle and scraped my knee. I'm telling you this now cos I've just remembered it, and there wasn't Facebook in those days
Made it the boat fairly busy day keep it quiet but both our aircraft carriers are tucked up in bed at Portsmouth due in Spain Tuesday morning big bar is shut face masks on living dream
First proper outing on the 1260 yesterday and today, chewing up and spitting out around 700 miles with ease. Also, stopped off to enjoy an hour in Matlock Bath in the sunshine on the way home.
Given up on sleep so a sneaky peroni in a virtually deserted bar ...yes bar is shut but the m&s petrol station on the a3 near Guildford supplied the essentials ...this is a two nighter boat so I can be reckless tonight
Nice early morning ride out to get the 748r MOT tested. The tester said they were all just sat looking at my bike when they had their break. “Best one they have ever seen” was what he said. I rode home bursting with pride.
Worked all weekend so I can enjoy my day off today. Bit of a lie in and just cycled to my mums for breakfast on the garden as my sister is visiting with my niece. Back home and now got to put the Pani back to track spec ready for Donington on Thursday, and Snett next Monday. And also fix my generator. Then empty the car, brim the tank and my fuel can ready for an evening trackday at Donington today, first in the new car so very excited! So far I’ve had 81 emails but staying strong and not reading a single one until tomorrow morning back at my desk, sounds stupid but I’m adamant of having this mini 1 day break as I’m normally contactable 24/7. It’s a nice feeling!
Time to pick up the V4S since the diesel incident. Riders Ducati emptied the tank, cleaned the lines and a basic service - £517 later...... Suns out, should be a nice day....
