Doesn't matter mate. Every rider wants different from a bike. Look at the honda as a good example.. It's basically built for Marquez and hardly any other riders can ride it. Ducati have a similar thing. There's only certain riders that can ride it. Another example would be Lorenzo, who needs everything to be spot on in order for him to push on and be anywhere.. but on his day he's unbeatable. It simply isn't as black and white as some attempt to make it out to be
Did anyone watch to Suzie’s BT TV coverage ‘interview’ with David Tardozzi and catch his comment about the rumour JL was in negotiations for a ride ? I very nearly wet myself Andy
Agreed but since both ktm riders went so well and it's a back to back race at the same venue next sunday i reckon there will be a cat among the pidgeons
So true, he’s been racing since the age of 4. The passion will soon fade, just like anything in life. He’s now a more successful version of Colin Edwards, 7-10 in the positions, consistently.
We need to put all the fast riders at the back of the grid which would make interesting reading for us fans.
That didn't work too well in World Supers. Rae was back leading within a lap or two. A superior rider on a superior bike will still get to the front, as MM (nearly) demonstrated. I wonder what MM would do on a Ducati?
Ok maybe a lap head start then?.& would love to see him on that in a few years from now, testing his metal before he retires.
As lovely as that would be, it would just create carnage and likely plenty of crashes. Another way could be ballast. But, IMHO, if they build in the reeks and have the best rider they should be left alone
I agree, I genuinely think if he had got on the yamaha in 2012/13 after he had finished runner up I think he could have got the job done, just go look at him on a 250, he could scrap but he didn't need to much.
Only caught the end of that when he said about Cal and him being ‘friends that raise their voices’ lol
Using a bit of licence, what I heard was ‘Jorge is sat at home waiting for a phone call ......... that he isn’t going to get’. Ducati did not approach JL, JL came cap in hand to Ducati for a job. Put a different slant on all the rumours and JL’s father spouting off about how negotiations were well advanced. Utter bollocks. Andy
Ref the Rossi thing, it's a real shame isn't it, right now, I'm not sure he's showing that he can do much more than prop up the top 8, which for the money he brings to the sport they will probably be happy with for the next two years, but honestly is a sad sad way to go. He got the name 'the Doctor' because of the way he would manage races and work his way through issues and problems as they happened in the race, like tire wear, fuel loads etc. The irony is that when he went to Ducati people started saying that he actually would push unless things were perfect, surely a sign of age.
A new Michelin rear tyre was introduced for the Wednesday test which proved to have noticeably more grip. Dovi was reported to have hated it because it restricted his ability to steer into bends using his trademark slide. Not all riders were able to fully adapt with the limited testing before the race. The other issue will be, with more grip at the rear, the rider is going to push the front harder. Did VR have a front tyre wear issue ? Andy Edit : just watched a video of a post race interview with VR. Yes the front was too soft but his problems started with loss of grip from the rear tyre. He parked due to an engine management red light on the dash.
Marquez lands in Barcelona, https://www.motogp.com/en/videos/20...nBarcelonaaheadofsurgery&utm_campaign=Traffic. It’s on the MotoGP web site so I hope the link works. Andy
