1260 Optional Extras

  1. Looking to place an order on a Multi 1260 S Grand Tour in a couple of weeks after moving back to Europe from San Francisco, fly next week but will be in self isolation for a couple of weeks to be safe.

Anyway, I've emailed Ducati Amsterdam to start the process but I'll be putting in an order for the grand tour but also want to add some optional extras and had a question or two.

    1) How loud is the full system? I plan to do a lot of long rides on this and can't decide if the full system is going to be too loud and if so, to just got for the end can instead.

    2) I assume the top box optional extra will also have the same colour scheme as the grand tour package?

    3) I ordered one of those throttle spacers (found here: https://ducatispacers.com/products/...s-2017-monster-supersport-xdiavel-multistrada), has anyone used these on the multi? My last multi (early model 1200 S) had a tonne of play in the throttle, I know this is due to regulations but just wondering if anyone has actually tried these yet.

    4) How are the dealerships in terms of negotiating with their new v4 models around the corner? The Grand Tour version is basically just a package to clear out old stock from the pricing I've seen, so maybe I can get it a bit cheaper :D

  2. No - the plastic top case [96780692A] comes with the mounting rack and support bars but NOT with the painted covers which have to be ordered separately to match the bikes colour scheme. For the 1260S GT the part number is 96781471A.

Other members of this forum with Multi 1260s have installed the throttle spacers to good effect, see the this thread.

  3. I can only comment about the Throttle Spacers having had three sets:
    Panigale 959
    Monster 1200R
    Multistrada 1260

It's a no-brainer. They're awesome. They really make a definite improvement in throttle response and sensitivity.

  4. You will probably get a better deal if you go into the dealers in person, it depends what stock they have and how keen they are to sell. Easier to negotiate a discount or extras at that point.

  5. Exhaust is loud ( earplugs necessary) and with the current noise regulations tightening up don’t know if it’s worth it.

  6. Unsure of what the exhaust regulations are in Netherlands. But good point. Does it drone on the motorway or is there a butterfly valve to reduce that?

  7. I have the throttle spacer fitted to my Multi GT, totally eliminates the free play.
The top box inserts match the GT colour scheme.
I have fitted the Evotech guards, cooler, radiator and engine.
Also fitted the Puig race screen and Iconic spacers , still trying to find the best setup here.
Fitted Iconic Satnav mount ( using TomTom Rider 550 )
Replaced the seat with the Touratech version.
    Speedo Angel's screen protector fitted.
Can't help regarding Termi system, I'm running standard.

  8. 1) Your “quiet” will be someone else’s “unbearable”... so you need to ride one. Why do you want a full Termignoni? Is it for performance or for aesthetics?

    2) IME the “Urban” package with top case comes with a requirement to buy the appropriately coloured inserts @ £100

    3) They’re apparently quite good... but all bikes have their “character” and you either accept/adapt or eliminate these. The 1200S has no issue in the throttle dept, but others might disagree

    4) Depends on whether your dealer has a load of cancelled orders because of CV19 or whether they’re selling any bikes they can get their hands on because people distrust “version 1” of a new model... I think most Dutch are 8’ tall and ride GS / XR now... so you might be alright... ;)

  9. Throttle play is a good thing with the state of the roads in the uk. Full system noise makes me smile when I blip it but it is no problem on long journeys but I do use ear plugs even with standard exhausts
