So what have you done today..?

  1. Yesterday evening went for a 90 mile ride With 5 mates down to the coast at Hastings.
2 great roads enroute, B2244 south of Hawkhurst, and military canal road from Rye to Appledore.
Military canal Road, long straights linked with sweeping S bends.
Trouble is if you get it wrong on the bends you could end up in the canal☹️.

  2. Sev
I worked in heavy engineering for 43 years, 24 of them a mechanical engineer on paper making plant.
I say many graduate “engineers” come and go, and to be honest they were all bloody useless.
If it was not written in a book they could not repair or modify it.
Unfortunately it seems HR departments put to much emphasis in degrees and psychometric testing.
Rather than someone’s ability to actually do the job, they are employed to do.
Hope you find something soon, best wishes and good luck.

  3. You need some legal advice Sev if you were in a 'pool' - they should be a clear scoring system which usually cover: knowledge, length of service, attendance etc. Sounds like you may have a case for unfair dismissal to me. Are you in a Union?

I too am about to have redundancy served after 36 years, but luckily I was going to leave soon anyway and the current management of the last 5 years are dire and have lost money hand over fist - having dropped to 3 days last year at my request I am better off out and hopefully the same will be true for you going forward :):upyeah:

  4. That's really crap Sev, typical of a decision made by someone who has no idea about what you do or how you do it and to then ask you to help them out is just plain Insulting.
Disgusting way to treat any employee but seems to be almost the norm these days.

  6. I wonder how long it will be before your previous employer realises their mistake.
And the buzzword, brown nose graduate cocks up, not long I think if my previous experience with grads has shown.

  7. Why yes I do :bucktooth:

  9. Seek advice and go for it - many companies don't want battles in court and will settle prior to that outcome ;) get your poker face on o_O

  12. Sorry to hear this Sev. But unfortunately you wont be the last to find themselves in this position.

Take some time out to decide what you want to do. Could mean a complete recalibration and a new direction in life with better opportunities :upyeah:
