And so it begins... Insurance renewal time

  1. Now I know it's not going to be cheap with a Desmo and Panigale on the same policy but DI have come back with a painful quote...

started the usual on-line quotes, Carole Nash rang me up... Looking at somewhere between 2-3K and would come back to me... No thanks, after numerous on-line sites asking me to call I decided (more out of curiosity) to try the dreaded MCE, I only managed to get a quote for the panigale... How frecking much... £7181!! Yup that's right £7181... Now while I'm still pissing myself my mobile rings... It's MCE... Hello sir would you like to proceed with quote? WTF? I then proceeded to highlight how far from any reasonable ball park they were and hung up.

However, I still need to try and get some further quotes even if its just to verify if DI are in the ball park, I know someone who had a Desmo and a couple of classic bikes (including a supermono) insured for £500 so there must be a way or an insurer who won't take the proverbial..

    thoughts/help appreciated

  2. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

    Sorry

Try eBike Insurance or Bennetts, they've been quite cheap with me in the past.... not had to make a claim off them yet tho so I don't know how good they are.

  3. Tried Hasting Direct yet? I got a very good multi bike deal to add my 848 to my Vstrom insurance (though max total value had to be under 20k) for £78 (renewal is September, but still... £35 of that was admin cost). Couldn't even get a quote from most on the compare sites.

  4. Ducati Insurance, best multi quote for me

  5. Moved to Insurance

  6. ComparetheMeerkat.com - Simples!

  7. Jon PM sent, hope it helps. See you on Tuesday pal.

  8. Thanks for the PM fella, let's talk then

  9. You get sorted out then Jon, at a better price ??

  10. are you full no claims jon.....

  11. Just paid £220 with Ducati insurance, cheaper than last year.
64 year old, limited to 2000 miles, £250 excess, for a Multi 1200. I am ok with this.

  12. Guys bikes under £15K aren't usually a problem to insure. Most Ins Co's will quote you online without too much difficulty and provide a fair quote. It also helps when you have an experienced and good history, a good NCB record, no points etc etc (not to say that Jon hasn't by the way),

The difficulty is when your trying to insure a bike/s that can exceed the £15K value, only a few insurers will help here, but unfortunately it does increase the Premium a little. ;0(

i know this from personal experience.

  13. Have you tried Bikesure from Adrian Flux? They seem to be able to quote competitively on unusual bikes or circumstances

  14. To answer the above... Not progressed today meetings all day at work however I've had numerous missed calls which I can only assume are CN, MCE and one or two others but non left a message... I've got a month before the current policy expires so some time yet.

Yes I'm full protected no claims, although I did have a total loss last year - SMIDSY and and SP50... All declared

  15. Well the SMIDSY shouldn't penalise you as it wasn't your fault and the NCB should help too, but like you say we'll catch up on Tuesday.

  16. Watch the sneaky fookers, the SMIDSY for example if liability has not been established yet then it will go against you and they will still count you as a risk even if its proven not your fault (Lose lose situation)

Did you declare your drink driving lol

  17. How on earth did they arrive at that quote then for the two bikes?.......or does it include paying for the big desmo service.........
