Yeah they're mega. They run suspension schools also which are very highly rated. A good friend of mine who worked at NOK (seals) was a suspension seal specialist at work and took their suspension course, he raved about it and now does all his own suspension work.
Got back to me eventually, said they couldn't do anything with my Skyhook, not surprising really I suppose as it's a bit of a closed book as far as quite what it does unless there's a good source of information somewhere?
What’s it doing that you want to change? I found increasing rear preload to 20 and going to “harder” on front and back make my S perfect! My issue was excessive fork dive, and weaving at speed.
Was just hoping for some professional knowledge on how to set it up really, perhaps I just need to fiddle more. Fork preload is the most interesting one being a manual adjustment and I've set that at 6 turns in from zero (which is where it was when I got it). Fork dive is much better, but yes I think I probably need to up the front compression damping a little. So many settings!
Check the manual, base setting on the 'duro is likely different but on the 1200S it was 10 turns out from fully in as a baseline. TBH I was very sceptical about the Skyhook having ridden it in default mode but it turned out that the front preload was practically fully out and so that helped a lot, and then firming up the rear preload to 20 and choosing "harder" stopped the weaving and the squatting under hard acceleration (used to get quite sketchy). Front was alright but I tried that in "harder" too and really liked it. I applied these settings to Touring (rider only) and Sport (rider only) and left the rest as stock. Seems really good now and the suspension is very supple and handles like it's on rails. You've got a bigger front wheel too so you'll be more stable still.
Thanks for that, useful comments. I'll check the manual again ... My front preload was all the way off (minimum) when I got it. I think that's standard setting on the Enduro, then you add one turn per 15kg of rider weight over your standard 60 to 70kg Italian ... or something like that. I've added 6 turns so far and it a lot better on fork dive.
Just checked, yes 10 turns out (fully off) is standard on the Enduro too, but then 'take it to your dealer' for adjustment ...
