Carole’s Diavel is due a new set of tyres so decided whilst the wheels are off, I’d address the lifting powder coating and aluminium corrosion on the swing arm. 8 years and nearly 30,000 miles has certainly taken its toll but hey, an angle grinder with a steel brush dealt with most of the crap. Thankfully the Dremel dealt with the rest. Cleaned off with degreasant, wiped with alcohol and rattle can sprayed 4 coats of etching, filler primer followed by another 4 coats of satin black over the day and it looks the business. A bit taken aback by how complicated the run of the brake line and wheel sensor wiring is and horrified at how much old chain lubricant had accumulated around the top chain slider and chain channel cast in the swing arm. Still all cleaned now and just the chain to clean and (sparingly) lubricate tomorrow as I wanted to give the paint a bit of time to dry. So went from the boat to southsea to sit on the pier was there that long saw the same boat head back out to Spain...then went to the godamling hotel paid then went to the room, we both agreed fairly quickly we would not spend a night there so went the local pub for a nice bit of food and looked online for different digs ...found a place called lakeside hotel I think it is but anyway the complex is the world darts championship place if that makes sense there is the continental hotel which is shut and this one and it’s really nice but very quiet but yes it is everything the other shithole isn’t I have no clue how deceiving hotel owners get away with this behaviour maybe cos people like me just walk out without a row and go somewhere else ...it looked like it had not been cleaned maybe it never is as nobody stays
