The silly season begins - Crutchlow's crisis

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by Cranker V2, May 10, 2013.

  1. Rossi at Laguna springs to mind, although he did lob it at the last turn

  2. Corkscrew one? Wasn't that Rossi pushing him and taking away the bikes competitive edge rather than stoner pushing on and doing battle?

  3. Dani Pedrosa at the Sachsenring, Stoner was struggling to run his pace and eventually binned it. Trying to think of others from last season.

  4. Yeah, but other than the aqueducts, the sanitation, oh and the roads, what have the Romans done for us?

  5. Just read the Ponch interview, and kinda got me thinking; is this issue Cals own fault? As he points out, T3 were and are option B for Cal and signing a 1 yr deal, his choice, leaves him where he is. Whereas a 2 yr deal he'd have been safe next year and more likely to pick up a good factory ride

  6. Herve's answers were blunt, had Cal signed a 2 year deal they wouldn't even have looked at Pol. But nothing can change the fact that Crutchlow is the best non-factory rider on the grid right now.

It would be foolish for Tech3 to ignore that fact, but even more foolish of Cal to keep moaning publicly about his plight. No-one likes a loudmouth, and Cal could find other teams are cautious of signing him if he doesn't keep it buttoned.

  7. If he doesn't watch out, for some people Cal may take over the Stoner Moaner mantle....

  8. I was so going to post something here about that but He Who Hesitates Is Lost

Still, I thought Stoner was universally loved ... are you suggesting that isn't the case, Glidd?

    /run away

Edit: back on topic, Cal is starting to show real class on the track, by that I mean Alien class. He could go anywhere now but I hope he doesn't go all England Team on us and crack under pressure.

  9. But you cant blame Herve, can you. The guy doesnt want to be there, signed because another deal fell thru, keeps banging the drum of 'I'm worth more than this'. Pol will bring money, Cal I suspect doesnt, and its not like they will win the title. The risk is they fall from top 5 potential to top 10.

  10. 2014 - Bradl out Crutchlow in. Then we will see him moan about development parts. Bradl gets all the HRC development parts FIRST. Then if they are any good they are used by Marquez and Pedrosa.

  11. I really hope suzuki can make a competitive bike although it might be asking a lot in their first season back, there's more good riders than good bikes at the moment

  12. hes got character and isnt afraid to speak his mind. that can be taken as miserable and I thought that. but hes refreshing from the same old media savvy stuff we see week in week out lol !!

his "ambition outweighs talent" quote was arrogant as hell...

but with the passage of time - class lol

  13. What about Cal on Bautista's bike. I can't imagine the team being overly happy with Bautista so far.

  14. I cant see Crutchlow jumping on what is in effect a Showa suspension rolling testbed. Then again, it may be the only bed that he is invited into!

  15. Gotta be better than the Ducati, surely..?

  16. It s his or bradls . The suz and he s dead ..

  17. If Casey returns, it will be on a Honda. Why would he wan to go back to that bike when the Honda is a better bike?

Anyway, I think VR is suffering from what happened to Marco. He is not the same as he was.

I think it's possible he might retire at the end of this year.

  20. I don't think he will be back either, but the word in the paddock is he might be.
