  5. They really do take some getting rid of, yesterday I needed to weld a leaking seam on the Triton alloy fuel tank, after removing all the fuel I filled the tank with water and left it for 10 minutes while I had a brew, emptied it, filled it with water again and swilled it around and after emptying it I lit my blow lamp, stood back and swiped it across the filler neck, just a little whoosh but the fumes still kept burning, the tank was quite warm, put a load more water in and swilled it around to dowse the flame, flashed the blowlamp again and more fumes lit up but not as much, I did this three times before it completely removed all the fumes. After preparing for welding I flashed the blowlamp over the filler once more with no reaction at all so carried on welding. It's the second time i have had to weld this tank, the first was to fit a new boss to relocate the fuel tap.
    I like to live dangerously.

  7. Popped in to town to look at a new watch I ordered on the spur of the moment last week. Turns out the watch had come from another branch instead of the manufacturer and it is going straight back to the other branch. The bezel had a scratch and when the clasp was adjusted on the strap, the clasp was hiding 4 little tears in the leather. I'll give the sales assistant his due, he was horrified and apologised profusely, packed the watch up and said that he will express order another watch straight from the manufacturer. Not having seen the watch in the flesh before, I am very happy with my spur of the moment decision though :D Sat in Nero's now with a large coffee and a cinnamon whirl before girding my loins for an expedition to M&S for a pair of jeans. Life is just so exciting :joy: Andy

  13. That would be nice but trying to stick to reigning in the beer consumption so will have to wait until tomorrow. On the up side, BBQ tomorrow and we will be cooking a traditional rack of locally butchered English lamb (not yer french trimmed excuse), devilled lamb’s kidneys with wild mushrooms and port sauce, a far eastern Asian inspired marinated thick slices of Aubergine and good old fashioned, fresh sweetcorn dripping in proper butter :yum Andy
