SBK Performance exhaust turned up yesterday. Took just 9 days to arrive from Malaysia. Bastards stung me for £125 in taxes which takes the total cost of the can, de cat pipe and servo eliminator up to nearly £600! Having said that, it both sounds and looks the bollox. Rapid Bike Evo fitted, Sprint filter here and will get fitted over the weekend.
I thought you weren't spending any money on this one. Or was that BloJob that said that in your behalf? Lol
We fitter AR can on Jo’s and decat link pipe if it’s as loud as hers !! Needs barrels in the bloody thing @cookster will confirm
Took the rear pegs off yesterday ready for today’s ride out. Might have the seat cowl on tomorrow night. Loving this bike. clocked up 200 miles now since fitting the Rapid Bike. I’ll get the laptop plugged in this aft and see what’s what.
The exhaust mod reminded me about my first R1, the 2004 model. I fitted race baffles to the stock exhaust to make it sound better, as I preferred the style of the stock underseat exhausts compared to aftermarket and I didn't want to pay the price for an exhaust that I didn't think suited the bike as much (Akrapovic on my old 2010 R1 is a different matter). I managed to get a second set of end cans, decat Y-pipe and Power Commander 3 off eBay for much less than new. Removing rivets and replacing a baffle and packing is much easier than what you have to do to the stock 899 exhaust though. I don't have skills or tools to cut it and weld it back together. I'm impressed with how the 899 sounds with stock cans though and like what I thought about my first R1, the 899 is a bike that looks great out of the box.
The 899 stock cans are now complete and the sound is loud I will possibly make up some removable baffles for track days but loving the sound for very little money, one thing I will say is horrible to remove and refit the cans
