Well I was watching their left feet and couldn’t see any gear changing mind you it could be by a paddle on the bars I guess.. I could see a clutch lever which I guess is for getting off the line but after that? X
I think the electrickery bikes are simply pull back the throttle to go ever faster without any gears.
I'll hazzard a guess that by the time this stuff is mainstream there will be no track days the PC brigade will have won !
No gearbox as such, no clutch; no need for them. I'm working on a 'future' electric motor that has a 30,000rpm top end! All this with 100% torque available from zero rpm...
personaly ,i get fed up charging up my power tools ,phone etc ,as for having to charge my bike ,bollocks to that .The TT zero is the best part of £20,00 and looks to be more a £9,500 bike, to replace the battery it is over £6,000 !
Some do and some don't. The Zero SR/F I rode didn't have one and didn't need it. So long as you don't mind watching a lot of your charge disappearing you can play drag strip launch very very successfully... In more normal riding modes the motor acts as a regen so when you close the throttle it feels exactly like engine braking...it's quite nice when you close the throttle from high speed and actually see your charge percentage actually go up. To a certain extent that's why these bikes make more sense in town as the stop start driving will end up helping battery life. If you are just on a motorway you don't get any regen. Just out of interest The Bike Shed in London has a couple of high speed charging points in the bike parking arch.
Well we know one thing then just by looking at the type of punters they have there at the said ‘Bike shed‘... The charge Up points ain’t provided for charging their beard trimmers .. X
There are other options for Moto E ( or perhaps Moto L) ideal for if you leave the track and take to the grass don’t you think..... Funny and brilliant at the same time this vid .... X
I was on a ktm electric endure type thing...…...I was impressed, good fun, constantly trying to find the back brake was a bit odd,
Yeah... when I was an apprentice mechanic back in the day one of the first things we were told was no ties, no long hair hanging and no scarfs! But, brilliantly done video etc and did you see him on the swing he built at the end? Awesome! X
The thing i find quite worrying about MotoE is a rider getting hit by one of those things(260Kg), example when Tito Rabat was hit by Morbidelli's bike at Silverstone 2018(Motogp bike 160Kg), i don't think the outcome would have been what it was!!
Yes agree.. saw one during qualifying Slide into the sand trap and it totally destroyed itself even the front forks were ripped off All from a modest Accident... X
It's good competitive racing but that issue of a rider getting hit does make me flinch but it is good!!
