How Do You Stand it? eBay for bikes is really starting to jack me off! WhoTF thinks that is helpful to take a picture of the back of the bike with you finger hiding part of the number plate and whole lot more (like the tyre and mudguard)? Do you really need to tell the World, that you are thick and that you can't photoshop a pic to blank the plate (or just unscrew it)? I may stop my eBay emails now as I don't need to be annoyed by looking at my email! To be fair, this wasn't Ducati, but Guzzi. Although I'm buying brand new I was interested in what's about used. Not a luddite's finger!
What is the deal with the number plate worry? Do people make a copied plate with the same number and stick it on their bike thus evading speed camera fines? Yes, you'd be screwed if ever stopped but since the chances of that are tiny, you just go around uninsured and not worrying about speed or traffic light cameras?
The registration can be cloned. Last year I received a notice of intended prosecution. My number had been cloned and the bike it was on was caught speeding on a camera. Luckily I could prove it had been cloned so not too much hassle. The number was from a bike I was selling and it showed clearly in the advert.
I have a used 749 on eBay. You’d be doing me a favour by buying it I’ve had a swap offer already despite specifically stating no swaps in the ad. As with anything, people tend to spoil it.
I'm just browsing ATM. I'll be in a position to buy when I get my insurance money. Dunno when that will be a nobody seems to be in a hurry to settle. Hastings piss my sol around (as they think that they are being clever) and she replies with a letter that they will end up paying for! So, Hastings think that they are being clever by p1ssing me around, whilst my sol just smiles and sticks her fees (which they will pay) up. So, ATM , impasse. Hastings think that they are being clever by ratcheting up the fees that they will end up paying, while my sol just smiles and puts her bill up. My guess us that either the statute of limitations (6 years), or a manager at Hastings waking up, will break the deadlock. Either way, it looks like it will end up in court!
