Estoril Predictions Spoiler

  1. Talking bollocks again. Answer my question; how come Rossi is suddenly a has-been on the Ducati when he was winning just months prior to that on the Yam. The Ducati is a piece of crap, and you know it.

  2. I'm not so sure about that, he's getting on abit, somehow he just doesn't look right on the bike, and as for the Ducati being crap, he got we he asked for, but he still insists it's Ducatis fault. Stoner was winning on it just prior to Rossi taking the reigns so maybe you're talking crap, just saying. You can't flog a dead horse, even on a Yamaha unless you insist on tearing the a*** out of it. It's new blood time. Fenati to Ducati anyone? Like you haven't thought about it...

The king IS dead, long live the king ...

  3. oooer missus........He's over the hill, lost the plot, a has been. Too old, cant take on the new faster more committed competion. So you blame the bike, I dont. Live with it.......................

  6. If Cal manages to fight off Lorenzo and Spies tomorrow it'll be a major scalp to take, and a massive confidence booster for both him and the team. I'm looking forward to it.

  7. I think it's a given that he'll do Spies, Lorenzo's a big ask, I'd be happy just to see him finish in front of the robot and grab 3rd for the time being.

  8. Don't count out Spies, all his laps that were pole position times were ruined by people getting in his way. It happened probably 3 times!

    And the Ducati squad:

  9. You sure you don't blame your bike when your being lapped

  10. So, chassis and electronic changes to test on Monday hmmmm.

  11. Its been a long while since I have been lapped......... but it would have been my fault whatever.

  12. 'For now we march against the compact Japanese, Germans to await reinforcements'

    Haha :upyeah:

  13. First off the Ducati is now set up with 'ducati settings' , Not VR's and Not JB's so I think the fact Rossi has taken so long to adopt that kind of set up has cost him and Ducati time and points

Secondly his riding style needed to be adapted which once again he fought against for such a long period and as a result time and no doubt more points have been lost there

Both of those statements from me have been well documented by extremely well connected motogp journos and the like so I think I'm safe to lay my hat there .

Now what I wrote in case you were struggling to read it in the correct way was aimed at lost time and another lost season , it dosnt say Rossi's useless, it dosnt say he never won great races, nor does it completely alleviate the blame away from Ducati

What it does do is make a comment based on 1 full season of chasing a bike build & set up being completely wasted due to not adapting and the entire pre season and start of this season also being wasted due to not adapting.

Those set ups and that style have been required for a long long time but not used out of pure bloody minded ness by a certain crew, they thought they could set the bike like a Yamaha and have tried every change possible to do so without even a sniff of success. Now all of a sudden since the 'outburst' a few weeks ago VR is prepared to change his style and adapt?
I'm sorry but I don't buy that, I think Mr P Morris's lawyers may have been in touch

So there you go, hopefully a little easier for you to understand and digest :)

Oh and one last thing, don't for a minute think you can give it the keyboard warrior antics with me, I appreciate your an avid VR fan and you 'thought' I was saying he was a crap rider or something (wrongly may I add)

BUT don't sit there slinging names and calling people you don't know idiots, I've seen you doing that kind of thing a fair few times before and it dosnt wash. Im pretty fucking confident you wouldn't say boo to a goose if you were stood in the same room with me fat boy so take that shit elsewhere, that clear enough for you?

Good, no harm done so now let's move on shall we and leave the personal comments out of it.

Opinions are opinions....everybody's got one ;)

  14. The simple fact is, if Rossi (or Hayden) were on a honda or yamaha they'd be up front chasing for wins, not languishing in mid-pack or going steadily backwards as they are now. The problem is the bike, and you know it. You say it was Rossi's fault as he couldn't adapt his style; but he is now, and he's still on row 3. And what about Hayden? Or Melandri? Or anyone else who's ridden the ducati apart from Stoner? Just admit it, the bike's a crock.

I apologise for calling you and cranker idiots, it's unlike me. But you buggers don't half annoy me. We can sit here all day and assassinate the riders' characters, in fact it's thoroughly enjoyable. But there's not a person here who can pass off their opinions as knowledge or fact about the physics and mechanics of motogp riding. Unless you've actually ridden the bikes or set about them with a toolkit, your opinion is as invalid as mine.

  15. Yeh...it's an absolute 100% pooh cart :)

I understand what your saying about mid pack but I can't help but think perhaps if they'd of tried riding it like a ducati sooner then the requested developments would of been more in tune with the Ducati and at least then we'd of known for sure.

The problem lies with me that the worlds greatest development rider (that's your man by the way) spent an entire season trying to develop 'out' the Ducatiness of the bike...maybe he was right to try but I'm wondering what were now left with, some mixed up mongrel with multiple development directional inputs and a lot if straw clutching.

Point is that again WE (that's us & Ducati) are another season down whilst paying the worlds most expensive test rider to develop a bike that he himself can't do, he dosnt feel comfortable on it and has only just switched styles so love him or hate him the poor sod hasn't got a hope in hell and neither have Ducati as collectively I think they all know they're killing time until the 'break up'

Oh and apology accepted although I can't speak for cranker

  16. No doubt confidence is a factor; you can't step off one bike as the declared GOAT, then spend the entire next season as a backmarker without it denting you confidence. But by the same token, you don't become a has-been overnight either.

Style is a red herring. Many different people with many different styles have won on the honda. Lorenzo and Rossi's styles are very different, but they've both been champions on the Yamaha. The Ducati can only be ridden one way, and only Stoner knows that way. Look what it did to Melandri's career...

Sure, there are many problems to overcome in any gp team, but in Ducati's case, the main problem is the bike itself.

  17. Here's to hoping they sort it but I'm just intrigued to know what next, I mean that in the sense of do we really think Rossi will be there next year and if he isn't who's picking up where he left off?

I sincerely mean it when I say that VR is truly a great motogp champ and rider but this entire debacle in my eyes has done nothing as they paid for him to come on board to develop the bike during his tenure and so far neither him nor Ducati have seen the fruits of that.

So to a degree they'd of been just as well saving that money for parts etc and putting NH as lead rider and listening to him for changes , after all he's still a champ.

Its all been said before so pointless really , I just want it to be over frankly

  18. Damo
I see the Ducati Settings worked then!
Both VR and NH 1.5 secs off the pace in warm up.
The bike is a pile of crap and it's all ducati's fault.

How long will Audi put up with the engineers who imho havent got a clue!

  19. Oh dont you bloody start :)

How about we all agree that the Gp12 is just a big massive pile of stinking pooh?

Quite who's fault it is for its current development / design I guess we'll never know ;)

So then, who do they employ next year? Now that's a question
