Removed the rear wheel on my ST2 - dont think it's ever been off before, stripped down the adjusters and orderred 2 stainless bolts to modify the unit. Taken the suicide side stand off to clean and replace the metal plate to stop the beast doing impressions of a clay pigeon trap and cleaned everything that I can see - not a hint of rust anywherre but with under 2.5k miles I'm guessing that's no suprise - bike was an Ebay bargain.
cleaned up cat puke , she either has something against me or as discovered last night the mechanic that overfilled the bike with oil
Sometimes it's the fan motor itself that's breaks, water leaks onto it apparently, but if you're sure it's the resistor
Me too Also just been for a walk with SWMBO round the village. Saw my neighbour Fireblade Steve and his missus in the pub beer garden so stopped for a chat. And as I’d come out without my wallet I managed to blag a pint of cider for me and a wine for SWMBO
Introduced my new neighbours to the big twin rumble as part of fettling the bike for Donington on Tuesday. New boots and an oil change + a good once over as it had been standing for over a year. Fresh tank of fuel and a fully charged battery and it started first press of the button. I just hope my brain is as up to speed at the track.
Started cleaning our motor home and put the handle in the slot to wind the awning out which usually drops in the slot and is a bugger to get out. Wound out the awning and went to get a bucket and sponge when I heard a clatter. The bloody handle had fallen out of its slot, bounced and put a nasty little ding in the side of the van. Me and my lad stood there in disbelief looking at the mark. I wanted to blame somebody else obviously but it was down to me not fitting the handle in correctly. I was thinking how on earth will I repair this when he said “ maybe you can put a sticker on it “ . Straight on eBay and a lovely round self adhesive reflector ordered !
Watched 'The Feds' raid a house couple of doors down, Cannabis growing judging by the plants removed. Unless it was Gardeners World police and they were growing Tomms out of season.
Twas a beautiful day today but having pulled the van’s dash apart yesterday I was torn between putting it all back or going for a ride. The ride won . I’m glad I did too otherwise I wouldn’t have seen @DucatiScud ’s video and if I stayed to put it all back together I’d have missed my ride out AND had to rip it all apart again on Tuesday.
Fitted my lithium battery today got one on my 900ie for over three years so thought fuck it put one on the 996. Had to make a crude but effective bracket out of what was lying about(pain in the ass with no vice), it will do for now!
discovered a wasp nest in loft at my house - preparing ammunition for a full attack but will get hot up there with full biker gear and helmet on.. Took COVID Test at drive-thru in Woking, it was a DIY in your own car which makes a lot of sense. You have to use a long swab on tonsils and nostril each for 10 seconds (does make your eyes water) Was told if inner cheeks* or tongue touched during tonsil attempt then test will come back void. Results usually in 48 hours but could be 2 weeks. Reason for test:- had a mild throat and cough Saturday morning.
Decided to attempt a simple little job - fit wires and a connector to the battery so I can charge the battery without having to remove the fairing - but you have to remove the side panel to do the job.....and the top fairing, and the chin piece. Then the indicators fell out after parting company with their relevant wires and I removed them to work out which wire went where - 42 degrees in the cabin and my temper was getting shorter by the minute and my fingers were so wet that they wouldn't grip my tools. Given up now - will need counselling before I attempt further work and a trip to spec savers so I can find all the little bits that I inadvertently kicked accross the floor. Bikes looking sad with hardly any clothes on.
Once you've done that you can drill a hole on the grey part of the top fairing to gain access to the battery terminal you can't get to when only removing the bottom fairing piece and then it's easy to change oil and batteries to your hearts content
