Nice Tuesday night 20 . Still able to get down some fav routes as the hedges have been trimmed, excellent work by the council for once .
Got the bike and changed the wheels over to the more road focused ones first (30mm). Only had time for a short 1 hour ride so far but it feels comfy and fast so far
Be careful clamping a CF frame on the top tube, some owners over tighten the clamp causing splitting to the CF. Far better to clamp on the seat post but only enough that the post can't exit the clamp.
Hobbits leading the tree astray. I live close to where Tolken lived for a while, it's claimed the Oak trees in the woods there is where he got the inspiration for the woods in LoTR. It's the nicest part of the woods too the rest are plantation trees which get felled once they reach the correct height to be harvested.
Just did 15 miles around the block with my boy...phewey...hot! We did however remove the peaks from our helmets so we have now been socially accepted by fellow cyclists. The lack of drag from my helmet definitely helped me to attain an average of 16.64mph with a climb of 712ft...
I'm training for this https://tourdebeara.ie/. Cycled 142km in 5:14hrs yesterday. I was proper fucked as it was 24deg here. (Ireland)
Impressive in heat, I did LeMarmotte a few years back in 40 degs bloody tough event. Good luck and enjoy
You are clear to ride with a peak on a MTB but not ever on a road bike, I thought I'd posted up 'The Rules' close to the start of this very fine thread. https://www.velominati.com Rule No:35
Sheer genius!! I'm ashamed to mention that I have on occasion, unknowingly breached these Commandment like Rules
We’ve all broken the rules unknowingly, however now you know you can’t break the rules nor knowingly allow others to break them.
Nice time my best time was Etape Caledonian 85miles in 4:19 In 2013 https://www.etapecaledonia.co.uk/about
